Prince should have released an album titled "1982" in 1999

So the loop woulda been looped.

I actually really expected him to do that back then, the idea was just so bloody obvious, and I was so disappointed toi learn the new album was titled "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" instead.

Wouldn't it have been fucking brilliant?

I'm curious what type of tracks would have worked on this type of album: unreleased material from 1982? New songs with a 1982 vibe? What did you have in mind?

Now i'd say a Mplsound/20ten self-homage sound would have been perfect but back then the 80's were so un-hype that it wouldn't have crossed my mind and I had no expectation regarding the content, funnily enough though Rave was the first time P reused the old Linn after years.

I'm genuinely surprised that y'all don't think it would have been a good idea, I mean c'mon guys don't y'all have any sense of humor or what? It would have been a perfect tongue in cheek joke and it sure would have created some kind of interest in the alkbum whatever it would have been (could have been rave for that matter if there'd been an additional song called "1982" to make sense of the title.
