Finally? I've been over the Revolution since 1988.

Could be interesting or sad to see them together again, it's not one of my lifelong dreams but I'd watch.

I'm torn. I saw the Revolution back in the day, and they were great. A part of me would like one more outing, for nostalgias sake, but a bunch of 50 somethings playing music from Purple Rain is only going to end in negative feedback.

One of my favourite things about Prince is that he doesn't look back. 3rdeyegirl are fanatastic live, and would be far superior than an out of beat aging Revolution.

I say, Prince, don't go there.

Why on earth would anyone want a revolution reunion?

A reunion would be nothing like the Purple Rain shows back in the day. Prince can't move like he used to for a start. It'd just look so tragic. At least he has some chemestry on stage with 3EG. As someone else pointed out he'd played with Wendy and Lisa since and nobody cared.

It's not going to happen until there's one million threads about it. I think we are halfway there.

I'm with you on this. BUT...lets say he does a few songs with 3EG at the grammys and then... wendy lisa et al...walk onstage....i wouldnt be mad. if it happens it should be that one performance ONLY. then i think i could lose my mind, but no tour.

i really appreciate no looking back, it's important to move forward and not get stuck in yourself. smile

Saw Prince play with Dr. Fink, Brown Mark and Bobby Z at Northrup in Mineapolis in 2000, then Wendy played with him in 2007 at the 7-7-7 shows in Minneapolis and the Revolution without Prince played First Ave for the Bobby Z benefit a couple years back so... who knows. it could happen. if it does hard to say if it would be great or fall flat. Sometimes you cant go back but sometimes reunions work. hard to predict chemistry.

I say,let it happen! There's nothing wrong with nostalgia or celebrating one's past.To most of the mainstream,Purple Rain is the only Prince album that matters, and The Revolution were a part of it.Why not celebrate that? Prince hasn't done anything "big" in a long time and this would be huge!

Imagine this....

The Grammys begin...the stage gets dark and we suddenly hear the beat of "Computer Blue"!! Then we hear the familiar words...

"Wendy? "Yes,Lisa..."is the water warm enough"?

The crowd is going nuts! purple lights flash all over the stage as Prince walks out and kicks ass with the Revolution....

The very next day, there is a surprise release of the Purple Rain 3-CD Deluxe Edition!!!

now tell me that y'all won't be losing your minds lol

Nah because before I could my alarm clock would sound and I'd wake up pissed upon realizing it was just a dream and Prince is STILL a stubborn ass twit. shrug

Im not interested in seeing a reunion on stage. But I wouldnt mind them going into the studio to make a new album with new songs. Now that would be an excellent additional disc to the PR reissue. wink

A lot of people cared that he played with W & L. If they got the Revolution back and played a Don't look back set, people would care. Think about it, if Prince make a grimey punky-new wave record with some of his old collaborators, it would bury what 3EG did. All that life experience on stage grinding it out just can't be beat.

I think Prince's voice is stronger in some ways. He can't shriek, but he's putting in overalll stronger performance. Dancing? Well, he's not as spry but he's also got more tricks up his sleeve than he did during the PR tour. Unless of course you think the splits, and kicking the mic stand, doing Russians and doing sqwirly motions with your hands was the height of Prince's dancing. Heck, if he'd just omit the disco calls from the PR setlist, they'd be improved.

It would be massive. Prince would be cool again. And they could actually release "Electric Intercourse" or other vault songs as singles to draw attention. Marketed right, this would sell beyond the usual fans.

If Prince at "50 something" can still play and sing his ass off, what makes you assume the rest of The Revolution won't be able to? What an asinine statement.

Exactly.

If Lisa Coleman looked like Roseanne Barr who cares- if the music's good that's what's important

W&L in their 50's, doing their lesbian innuendo ? Puh-leeze.
Spare them. Long gone are the days of lace, mascara and hairspray by the truck load.

Even worse : P doing the masturbation scales with Wendy kneeled in front of him.
I think the crowd would become awfully silent in an instant.
