Just how nasty is that bass on "Time"?

I can't stop playing it. I underestimated AOA - I rarely put it on to plate for a full sit-down meal but I find myself making side trips to the fridge to take little nibbles every day.

It's great that we're still mentioning little gems within this album to talk about. AOA has become one of my favorite Prince records. biggrin

Every time I listen to it I find something new to appreciate. I honestly don't recall the last Prince album for which I felt like that. Perhaps TRC. I can't say that AOA is one of his best (how can any album make its way into that canon?!) or that it will remain one of my favorites in years to come. But I've enjoyed listening to it like crazy the past few months.

It took me by surprise at first because the snippets and previews we were hearing before it was released had me thinking I wouldn't like the cd. Princey snuck up on me this time.

Totally. I hated or strongly disliked all the snippets. But everything pulled together on the album I fantastic (sometimes I skip the opener). 'Time' just finishes up in an awesome way.

Absolutely love the way you put that! This is often the way some albums do actually get enjoyed! Happy snacking!

It is so, so good. This song is top-drawer. I can't think of many Prince songs that have this type of atmosphere, so it's both solid and seems a bit like approaching new territory.

Its my fave from the two.

The background vox(regular, leading, AND trailing bkgrnd vox). The plodding drums, sounding like the unwanted advance of time. That thunky ass bass with a noodling and tourette blurting licks. It all sounds so easy, but sounds so great as well....he even went as far so as to actually 'phone-in' his own vox.

I fuckin love it. Its my fave like I said....but I don't think its the best song of the two...but its my fave song out of the two.

It's pretty nice. Definitely a grower for me, but I love the sparse sound that he's created.

.

Around the 0:45 mark, what is that sound? A record? Surely not a cig?
