Best Prince response 2 a question in an interview

Not that Prince is known 4 giving interviews a whole lot during his career, but what is the best response he's ever given 2 a question when being interviewed? Here's my vote:

Jay Leno: Now how do I become a "preferred" customer?

Prince: Well, u got some preferred money?

Don't hate me 'cause I'm NOT beautiful

I liked when that host (was it Rosie O Donnell?) said "Do you mind if I call you Taffy?" and he said "You know what rhymes with Taffy? Goodnight!" lol.

It must have been annoying to have to answer so many name change questions. You can see why he doesn't bother talking to the media half the time when you watch some Prince interviews.

When asked if he could take Michael Jackson in a fistfight, Prince replied "Michael's not a fighter, he's a lover."

Liz Jones asked Prince what he thought of (recording artist) Tricky. Prince says he's never heard him and asks her what the album is called. Liz replies, Pre-Milennium Tension.

Slight pause while Prince reflects for moment..."Isn't that just another way of saying 1999?"

Back in the late 90's, I don't remember who asked but...

- What's your favorite instrument? (or maybe it was "What instrument do u like 2 play the most?")

- My wife.

1986, at the MTV Parade premiere interview,

Prince was asked by the host: "How do you feel, Prince"?

His answer: "I feel with my hands, Martha"...

Good answer to a simple question...

When he answered Dick Clark on American Bandstand by putting up his hand with 4 fingers and not saying a word! That was eccentric to say the least! Totally best in Prince fashion in my opinion.

When asked in Rolling Stone interview about U2s Grammy win over the brilliant SOTT:

From a 1990 Rolling Stones interview:
"I don't go to awards shows anymore," he says. "I'm not saying I'm better than anybody else. But you'll be sitting there at the Grammys, and U2 will beat you. And you say to yourself, 'Wait a minute. I can play that kind of music, too. I played La Crosse growing up, I know how to do that, you dig? But you will not do 'Housequake.'"

I can't remember exactly what was said but when Kurt loder interviewed him he asked a question about time. Prince really didn't have a good response and basically Kurt put him in check. The next day Prince posted a response in his defense on his website explaining his reasons for not keeping track of time. Who remembers this?

Some decent quips, but how about one that actually makes sense, given the question asked, or provides an interesting & informative answer that people might be curious to hear?

OPRAH: And you're living in Minneapolis of all places.

prince: Minneapolis, yeah.

OPRAH: Yeah.

prince: I will always live in Minneapolis.

OPRAH: Right. Do you -- do you -- you will always live here?

prince: Mm-hmm.

OPRAH: Why?

prince: It's so cold, it keeps the bad people out.

Interviewer:(Paraphrased) The Wesley Snipes role in the Michael Jackson video, Bad, was originally offered to you. Why did you refuse it?

Prince: The first line of that song is "Your butt is mine," now who was going to be singing that to who? I was not going to sing that to him, and he DEFINITELY was not going to be singing that to me.

Or, he could offer something of substance, but sure - if you don't care for that...don't blame "chemtrails" on the interviewer.

I seem to recall his favourite food is "stewardesses". Where did I hear that, anybody? Electrifying Mojo interview?

I don't remember exactly what this interviewer was asking him, someting about why he had changed musciians in his band, fired someone, brought someone new in, something like that, and Prince says (I am semi-paraphrasing): "It's important that I'm on the same page with my musicians, or shit ain't gonna work. I mean, what if my bass player is thinking about pickles, and I'm thinking of orgasm? Then what?" I fell the fuck out when I read that shit.
