Had no idea he was presenting on the Globes as I was totally watching something else until my mom sent me a text message that P was on presenting and to turn to the channel ASAP!!! I did so but only caught him when he was announcing Common and John Legend as the winner. Loved that moment. I went on YT and to see the whole thing, the audience's respect for him was absolutely amazing and his smile is still so contagious and gorgeous. nod

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Prince Presented for One Minute at the Golden Globes and Stopped the Show With His Amazingness!

Mike Vulpo, eonline

And Best Presenter of the Year goes to… Prince!

The music icon--who just so happens to be an Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe winner—surprised audiences when he appeared onstage to present the winner for Best Original Song.

But before the nominees could even be announced, the entire crowd erupted in applause for the legendary singer.

Channing Tatum was caught whistling, Allison Janney was about to fall off her chair and we were just staring into those signature shades and afro. Oh Prince, can't we party like it's 1999?

But as award shows go, a winner had to be announced and congratulations are definitely in order for John Legend and Common.

The duo won for "Glory," their musical collaboration for the movie Selma.

Unfortunately, we have a feeling people are going to be talking about Prince and all his sass in the days to come.

"Oh, my God!" Matt Bomer told E! News minutes after the award was handed out. "That was amazing. That was amazing."

—Additional reporting by Marc Malkin

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

He was there for 29 minutes to give his friends their award, so I got that.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

and be pleased with everything he does. I was happy he was there, but wasn't happy that his fro was still there. I wish he would cut that shit off!

I had just caught it when Common was giving his speech, but watched the full clip here. Only Prince can walk on stage that cool with a diamond-studded cane. I read that actress Alison Janney (?sp) had the biggest facial reaction when she saw him walk on stage, she was so excited.

I loved his speech. Maybe some of these other sellouts can take a lesson.

I've always been a fan of Common. I love that he finally had to chance to drop his knowledge on the very much "Hollywood" audience. Perfect speech indeed. nod

Yep, somebody had to say it and Common said it so beautifully. Glad Prince still has his 'fro, and that he doesn't care who is pissed off because he is wearing his natural texture. Keep the 'fro Prince.

Yeah but who really cares if they some don't like his natural texture. There is nothing they can do about someone's hair they can't control anyway. Lol. I am glad he is embracing his natural texture; nothing wrong with it.

-------- Exactly, What level arrogance does anyone have telling black people to conform their hair. Granted I have no issue with someone expressing the need to comb hair but in this case his hair was combed and looked fine. The issue on this board with his "fro" is people actually getting irritated because they cannot stand lookign at the natural texture of his hair.

I've already done my 20 rounds with y'all on that fro, so you know where I stand. My question today is what exactly is he embracing with that ill-fitted, disturbingly ugly ass outfit? I'm used to Prince's style changing with the wind but generally, it always been for the better. It just really seems to be devolving to me and it hasn't a damn thing to do with his roots.

I tend to embrace an adult's right, to choose how they want to dress, whether I like it or not. I learned that you can never please everyone, with one's wardrobe choices, as it is not as though they were specifically born into this world to please my tastes.

Mind your own motherfucker! The man figuratively and literally wrote the record on STYLE, so when he's in something that is ill-fitted and disturbingly ugly, it stands out to me and my head isn't so far up his ass that I can't notice.

YES!!! Common has always been handsome, but those eyes of his just make me melt. drool As far as why and how Erykah dumped him, he outlined that situation in full detail in his book that was released a couple of years ago...but I didn't know that Serena broke his heart too. Sounds like he needs a hug and I'm more than gracious to give him one! hug

I find that attitude a lot, as often times natural hair is not as embraced by society, on a positive scale, as the standard, societal European look. I find that could be due to some people's lack of knowledge of the natural hair types of Blacks around the globe, and a texture you don't find advertised on a global scale. The acceptance of the standard, European hair texture, is part of a brainwashed, global mentality. Unfortunately, with many Prince fans, they've grown accustomed to Prince's longtime, permed look, over the years. I believe many forgot, or especially new fans, that early in his career, he wore his natural hair texture, which was not of the global/standard European hair texture appearance, so-to-speak. The way Prince changes his appearance over the years, you never know what he may choose to do with his hair next, like if he may choose to straighten it again, but quite frankly, I have no issue with him choosing to wear his natural hair texture. I thought his Afro looked just fine on the Globes.

I just don't get how some of these threads tend to turn into an issue about his hair.
