i had a vision

every Prince album remastered and rereleased with bonus tracks from the sessions surrounding the release - so in essence, we'd have finished or improved mixes of the material featured on 'The Work' series. that included with B-sides and extended mixes of hits would surely give us a juicy 2-CD release of each album. since Compact Discs are fading, i imagine a lot of this stuff will end up as iTunes exclusives. would be great if we get deluxe vinyl releases but i'm not holding my breath.

Great vision..! biggrin

Bring it on... but on Cd and vinyl formats: woot!

I wouldn't want the re-releases if they were on iTunes as downloads.

'thedance' you know, i would actually repurchase every LP release from For You to Lovesexy if WB did such a thing. of course, 1999 and Sign o' the Times would then be boxed sets.

i'm not high, fantasizing or liviing in the past -but rather- flexing my marketing/sales moxy. all y'all know that you'd be crashing sites trying to pre-order these detailed reissues. it's not that far out there - remember the EWF reissues?

thumbs-up to Art Official Age - so no, i'm not daydreaming.

And yet, for reasons none of his fans can fathom, Prince just isnt interested in anything like this. Its baffling and frustrating. We all want our musical hero to be regarded and remembered in the highest esteem, yet he just doesnt seem to give a rats ass about it. He doesnt want to be on Youtube, doesnt want fan sites about him, doesnt want his old music preserved and doesnt want new generations to discover him using common, everyday technology such as twitter and social media.

It begs the question - what the fuck does Prince really want? Because it doesnt look like he wants fans or any kind of lasting legacy. Maybe all he really wants is to be so forgotten he can finally walk into McDonalds and order a [veggie] burger without being recognised.

Well, that time is coming Mr Nelson, sooner than you might think. smile
