my dissapointment in Plectrum Electrum is it wasn't as bombastic as the live 3rd eye girl, i truly think if it was in a more Foo Fighters rock out style it would of done better on the charts - Let's Go Crazy (Reloaded) would of been an amazing intro track plus the buzz it would of generated would of helped. also the inclusion of Screwdriver and even RnR affair would of improved the overall flow of the album - i would of dumpled ain'trurninaround and stop this train (save those for giveways/b-sides). Also listening to Clouds again and it should've been the lead single with a proper video.

Yes I was also disappointed by Plec cuz of the same reason, that's why I think Plec should rather have been a live album since 3EG was much better live

i agree, they should have just released some of their tour work, that would have made for a more cohesive album with better support from listeners. I get wanting to do the studio thing, but if your magic is live, then that's what should be celebrated imo.

.

I agree with the Reloaded as an intro. I also think Screwdriver would have worked well on the album too & I don't get why it wouldn't be included unless being released on the other label really prohibited that as an option, what a bummer. At least we have the song regardless to make our own smile

.

I also agree, to get rid of ainturninaround & stop this train - very avg imo but I would also get rid of tictactoe - sad

After revisiting the lyrics, I'm now thinking that the song is about Andy.

He was probably frustrated by her posting his stuff on facebook or whatever reason and wanted to put her in her place.

anyways that's how i interpret the song now lol

The idea that anything Prince writes is about real people is painfully naive.

There are many songs Prince has written about real people. He's written a whole lot for Mayte, just for example.

In general, I'd say he mixes in a lot of fiction and just plain sketchy lyrics into the songs that might have been inspired by relationships. However, I am inclined to think that the more recent songs from the last 10-15 years or so aren't as personal as some of the ones he did when he was younger.

Yep, he often wrote about real people and i believe this one is about someone who was in his circle.

I'd say it's about Andi - or at least about the Andi persona she was portraying for the aborted ablum they were making together. Too Young To Dare? Then she broke off the relationship, using the excuse that she thought she was gay, but not yet ready to announce it to the world. Prince accepted this, but felt seriously wounded in his masculinity (Da Bourgoisie, Another Love). The album was cancelled of course, but some of the songs were thought good enough to be kept for the recent album.

Now, that's what I call imaginative. No facts whatsoever. Just fictional interpretation of some recent songs as if they'd tell a story.

Bria disappeared out of the picture 4 of 5 yeas ago (and never was very much in it). He wouldn't be writing songs about her anymore in 2013.

Some here assume that Ain't gona miss u when u're gona is about Bria yet this song was released after Screwdriver. Prince often writes songs years before they are released..

It may not initially have been written about her, but as I recall he released it
on the day of her wedding. Pretty sure that's why people reasonably assume he's taking a swipe...
