Every time another boy speaks
If they catchin' feelin's and they wanna get with me
I don't hear no evil or see it, don't matter anyway
'Cause they'll never be with me

I got what I want and he's home
Waitin' on me to call him on the phone
To ask him what he wants from the store
I give him what he needs and baby so much more

Ain't another man that can make me love him
'Cause I only place God and the sky above him
He's the one that brings me joy
As long as we're together there'll never be another boy

Everywhere we go people stare
They could be jealous but I just don't care
Perception ain't really the truth
They could never ever take me away from you

Every time another boy pass
Think about how sad I was in the past
Hopin' with a knife in my back
That everythin' was cool but he was makin' plans

Just another failed romance
'Cause a one trick pony ain't got no chance
Don't need any other toy 'cause baby you're my lover
There'll never be another boy

Sister and my mother, father and my brother
This is what the difference will be
The only one that lasts through all of history

Every time another boy speaks
Kind words of praise or fantasy
To me they're just another boy
And not the coolest boy who brings me joy

'Cause I got him
(There'll never be another boy)
Yes, it's you baby like water for chocolate
(There'll never be another boy)

I'll do anythin', anythin' to make you see
(There'll never be another boy)
That you're the only, only one for me
(There'll never be another boy)

I like the smell of your sweet cologne
The I don't care style of your hair
(There'll never be another boy)
Just ask and I'll cook the things you like
When them other girls cupboard's just bare
(There'll never be another boy)

Yes, it is, you see this, you got it
(There'll never be another boy)
I said it's you babe like water for chocolate
Forever baby
(There'll never be another boy)

Every time another boy speaks
If they catchin' feelin's and they wanna get with me
I don't hear no evil or see it, don't matter anyway

Bria Valente (born Brenda Fuentes)[1] is an American singer. A protégée of Prince, Valente released her debut album, Elixer, as part of a three-album set with Prince's LOtUSFLOW3R and MPLSoUND on March 29, 2009.[1] The collection debuted at #2 on the top Billboard albums chart.[2]

Valente was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She stated in an interview with Tavis Smiley that she first met Prince at the age of 17 at Paisley Park Studios while working with keyboardist Morris Hayes.[3] She later moved to Los Angeles, California, and worked as a model and background dancer for Usher.[1] She is credited with backing vocals on Usher's 2001 album 8701.[citation needed]

Valente returned to Minneapolis, where she began her association with Prince, contributing vocals to his 2007 album, Planet Earth.[1] Valente recorded Elixer in 2009; she sang lead vocals, with Prince on guitar, and Morris Hayes providing beats.[1][4] Prince described it as a quiet storm album.[5] The music review website Metacritic rated the album 49 out of 100, labeling it as having "mixed or average reviews", based on 12 reviews. [6] The album was released through the website lotusflow3r.com, as well as exclusively through U.S. retailer Target.[7]

I love Lotusflow3r/MPLSound and most of the live shows of this era. Songs like "Colonized Mind," "Dreamer," "Ol' Skool Company," "MPLS," "Valentina," "Feel Better, Feel Good, Feel Wonderful," "Dance 4 Me," and "No More Candy 4 U" continued my love affair with Prince's songwriting and musicianship. This time was a total high for me. These albums were on heavy rotation for two years, and even though I like very much 20Ten, it has taken AOA and PlecElec to replace them as my main playlist.

Lotus Flower Meaning in Buddhism

In Buddhism the lotus is known to be associated with purity, spiritual awakening and faithfulness. The flower is considered pure as it is able to emerge from murky waters in the morning and be perfectly clean. Therefore in common with Egyptian mythology the lotus is seen as a sign of rebirth, but additionally it is associated with purity. The breaking of the surface every morning is also suggestive of desire, this leads to it being associated with spiritual enlightenment.

As Buddhism stems from a different part of the world to Egyptology, there are many more colors of lotus to be seen. So it is not too surprising that the many different colors have come to be associated with different aspects of Buddhism. The main symbolism of the lotus flower and their meanings are given here.

  1. Blue Lotus: The blue lotus flower is associated with a victory of the spirit over that of wisdom, intelligence and knowledge. If you get to see it a blue Lotus in Buddhist art you will notice that it is always depicted as being partially open and the centre is never observed.
  2. White lotus flower: this color lotus is known to symbolize Bodhi (being awakened), and represents a state of mental purity, and that of spiritual perfection; it is also associated with the pacification of one’s nature. This lotus is considered to be the womb of the world.
  3. Purple Lotus: known to be Mystic and is associated with esoteric sects. It can be shown depicted as either an open flower or as a bud. The eight petals of the purple Lotus are representative of the noble eightfold path; one of the principal teachings of the Buddha. Following this path is thought to lead to self awakening, and is considered one of the noble truths.
  4. Pink lotus flower: this is the supreme lotus and is considered to be the true lotus of Buddha.
  5. Red lotus: this is related to the heart, and the Lotus flower meaning is associated with that of love and compassion.

Every once in awhile
U need some ol' skool company
Somebody that appreciates a sexy groove
And a old school melody
When god his son and the love of family
Ruled in the community
The songs you sing
Lift you up 2 heaven
A heaven we can believe in

Everybody's talkin' about hard times
Like it just started yesterday
People eye know they've been strugglin'
At least it seems that way
Fat cats on wall street
They got a bailout
While somebody else got 2 wait
700 billion but myold neighborhood
Ain't nothing changed but the date

[Chorus]

Ain't nothing ever come from complaining
Xcept a bitter heart, that's true
Follow along and you gon wanna do
Something b4 the next chorus is thru
The songs we sing
They used 2 mean somethin
Now every other one is just mean
Rather than reminisce eye'm telling you this
It's time 4 a brand new scene

[Chorus]

Everybody's sinkin' in the quicksand
Created by the keeper of time
Cast aside by using ancient tricks
That changes ur state of mind
They got you catering the whims of the flesh
B4 you get ur paper right
Call me old fashioned
But back in the day
There wasn't no shorties in sight

1st come job then come marriage b4 shorty
Come out with the baby carriage call me
Old fashioned just clap yo hands just clap yo hands
Radio used 2 b local untouched by the man
Songs we used 2 sing used 2 mean something
Now they just bland like the drummer
Where's the real drummer? michael b.
Mint condition, morris day
Jellybean wishin' sheila e and brother john, sometimes me
'til dawn

If the white house is black
We gotta take the radio back
Power 2 the people
Power 2 the people

Put this thing on repeat go back 2 one
And just move ur feet tell ur friends prince and
The mplsound we can't be beat

Suckas

At one point in the song's lyrics, Prince names many of his past drummers. "Songs we used 2 sing used 2 mean something / Now they just bland like the drummer / Where's the real drummer? / Michael B., Mint Condition, Morris Day, Jellybean wishin', Sheila E. and brother John / and sometimes me, 'til the dawn." The inclusion of Mint Condition is unusual since Prince had not been known to have worked with the band or drummer Stokley Williams (other than in a background vocal role on Call My Name). Also notable is the omission of Bobby Z. (drummer for Prince's most famous band, The Revolution), Kirk Johnson (New Power Generation drummer and Prince's best man in his wedding to Mayte Garcia), and Cora Coleman-Dunham (his then-current drummer who played on the track during its regular live performances).

Louts Flower Meaning in Christianity

*

In the Old Testament there are at least two figures--Daniel and Job--who foreshadow Jesus as the Christ and symbolize the ultimate Christian theme of death and resurrection. Job, of course, is literally and metaphorically buried in the hell of death, sickness, and social condemnation, only to arise reborn-- physically and metaphorically--with even greater/stronger faith. This death and rebirth of Job is also what the lotus plant has universally symbolized to many civilizations and religions, and it is used to show God's power in Job 40:21-22. In this passage the plant symbolizes God's power to meet all of humanity's needs beyond human understanding. So at Job's moment of doubt--the depth of his descent into hell, God chastises and reassures Job that the manner in which He has created all of nature--including the lotus plant--to care for humanity is assurance that God will always meet mankind's needs, especially allowing humanity to be saved/reborn from its sins.

*

And since all religions borrow, it is clear that when Gabriel, the Archangel, holding in his hands a spray of water lilies, appears to the virgin Mary in any picture of Annunciation, the spray, typifying fire and water or the idea of creation and generation, symbolizes the precisely same idea of as the lotus in the hand of the Bodhisat who announces to Maha-Maya, Gautama's mother, the birth of the world's saviour, Buddha. (As an aside: My world literature class constructs an essay explaining what the similarities of "Hymn to the Aton" and "Psalm 104" teach humanity about art, history, politics, and/or religion, answering what does it mean that two men living eight hundred years apart being of different religions and races show/personify God in almost the exact same manner even though they have an entirely different concept or notion of God?)

With the emergence of the Sun, Life is born. With the emergence of God's Son, Life/Humanity is reborn from its abyss of sin. And with this emergence, the lotus flower acquires a special meaning and timeless significance. As the bearer of creation, the lotus flower holds a special place in multiple mythologies and ideologies. It symbolizes creation and the timeless and continual process of brith, death, and rebirth. At night, it sleeps. At sunrise, with the awakening of the sun, the lotus emerges to life just as many figures--Buddha, Jesus, and others--die to one life/reality and are reborn to another.

Yeah, with Prince there are always these two sides: funny surface Prince and serious more introspective Prince. But, the problem is that one can never be sure which Prince we're getting. And, on the one hand, it is easy for me to say, "Prince should have been more upfront about what the title meant so that more people could know from where he's coming," but based on his career that's never been his mode of operation. Throughout his career he's been more: "Here it is. If you get it, you get it; if you don't, you don't." And I think that for a lot of folks, when we were all younger it was cool for most of us to decipher the "hidden" meanings. But, as most of us aged, got families, jobs, and other responsibilities, it became too much work, and some even perceived it has juvenile to keep deciphering all these messages. Of course, add that many people became increasingly disappointed, "put off," or just downright "offended" by his religious beliefs, and that added cynicism to the frustration, causing many "hardcore fans" not to bother seeing if more is there.

The Morning After

Recording dates and studio are unknown, but it is likely the track was recorded in 2005 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA, 77 Beverly Park, Hollywood, CA, USA or Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA. It was included as the seventh track on a late 2005 configuration of 3121, but was removed as the album underwent some changes before release. -PrinceVault

Prince - all vocals and instruments, except where noted C.C. Dunham - drums Josh Dunham - bass guitar Mr. Hayes - keyboard effects

It didn't hit me til the morning after
All eye remember was a kiss and then you were gone
And then eye missed ur smile, the sound of ur laughter
And now eye'm sleeping on the side you slept on
At first eye felt the only reason you left me
Was the proposition that eye spoke in ur ear
Eye ain't a doctor but eye know this ain't healthy
Instead of counting sheep, eye'm counting tears

Eye coulda drove you home but you wouldn't let me
Eye didn't care how far, or if it was near
Ain't tryin 2 push you cuz eye know you just met me
Eye'm just wishin that you were here

Eye'm not the kinda man that's sad and lonely
It's just that something tells me ur the one
Even if you love somebody else it's only
Better if eye get the chance the moment you're done

Please don't tell me that you lost my number
Just come back over if you don't wanna call
Eye've got some music that will make you rhumba
We can jam baby all nite long:

I agree, when you have to spell it out it's probably too much

I like it when the flow of the album connects the album title

I think from Dirty Mind - Batman it hit 100%

After that it was kinda hit or miss

Rainbow Children yeah that one the music spoke for the connection.

So far I'm not really getting Lotus connection, the instrumentals actually

work seperately songs # 1 2 12

LotusFlow3r is my favorite of the 3 anyway

.

I did my own Planet Earth playlist of songs, it flowed pretty good.

I love both LotusFlow3r/MPLSound as collections of solid songs in which the songs seem to be about the necessity of art being positive and uplifting, but I don't consider them to be "concept" albums in the manner of Lovesexy or The Rainbow Children. As such, the "lotus" theme or connection for me is the notion that music can be healing or redeeming or uplifting in some way. Even "$" is like a cautionary tale of embracing the physical instead of the metaphysical. And the same seems to be true of MPLSound, with he point being that even party music can be socially or personally uplifting. Planet Earth was one of the few albums that was not in heavy rotation for at least a year after its release. It has some songs I like, especially "Chelsea Rogers," "Guitar," "Future Baby Mama," "Resolution," and "Planet Earth," but it always felt that it was missing one or two more songs to make it cohesive, musically and lyrically. It isn't so much a fragmented mess like Graffiti Bridge, but at least Graffiti Bridge has five or six songs that I love whereas Planet Earth, as a collection, could never seem to rise above a grade of "C" for me, even when I removed "Mr. Goodnight," which still battles "I Wonder U" as my least favorite Prince song.

Dance 4 Me is the third track on Prince's 34th studio album MPLSound, and, five months after the album's release (one week before the French release), Dance 4 Me was released as the album's first single, available only as a download in France. A month later, Dance 4 Me (Icon Remix) was released as the album's first single in North America, available as a download only. Other dance remixes have been created by outside producers for potential release.

In December, 2011, close to three years after the album's release, Swiss dance music label Purple Music released a new single of Dance 4 Me, containing remixes of the track by Jamie Lewis and David Alexander, as well as the remixes recorded for potential release in 2009.

Recording dates and studio are unknown, but it is likely that the track was recorded in 2008 - early 2009 at either Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA or 77 Beverly Park, Hollywood, CA, USA. Remixes were done in mid-2009 at unknown studios. Jamie Lewis recorded a remix in mid-to-late 2011 at an unknown studio.

Dance 4 Me

Eye like it when you dance cuz it gets me hot
Eye like it when you shake everything you got
Eye like it when you dance cuz it's so sexy
Eye like it when you dance 4 me

Eye like it when you think eye'm all alone
Ur the voice eye hear from the telephone
Tellin me all ur deepest fantasies
Eye like it when you dance 4 me...hallelujah

Eye like it when eye hear a knock
On my door
U r standing there in ur christian dior
Dark sunglasses in the pale moonlight
Eye like it when the scene is right
U can take ur wrap and lay it on the chair
If anybody finds it eye don't care
What we do 2gether makes history
Eye like it when you dance 4 me
Hallelujah

Ur flamenco eyes r all like jazz
With every other sip of what's in ur glass
The sexier you get
The more ur in2 my stash
Eye like it when you dance for me
Hallelujah

(dance... dance 4 me... dance... dance 4 me)

[Chorus x2]

Dance... dance... eye like it when you dance 4 me
