This is just typical Prince playing on his mysteriousness. It's not worth getting caught up in it. I follow other artists via social media and they manage it so much more professionally and not so weird. Don't have time for bs.

Remember back in the day, when you didn't have access to everybody's business every second of their life via social media? You had to wait months (or sometimes years) for new news articles or interviews?? don't remember that eh?? Well there's nothing wrong with people taking a break from all their insane (some literally so) fans. I'd need a break if I had to constantly listen to some of you spoiled brats daily. wink

I'm glad he went dark. Notice that he's also basically shut down DrFunkenberry as well... there's been nothing on P since "The Shutdown".

Its not called mysteriousness... he's an effin introvert. It takes more effort for extreme introverts to continually communicate to the public than it does for them to stay to themselves. He does what comes natural to him, its no put on act or show.

Tell me; if one is an introvert, is that a bad thing? And should one claim to be an introvert as oppose to just being one? I have a cousin who claims to be one to no end. I feel if you are one, just be one and please don't constantly remind me. I see your point with Prince in terms of his actions.

I don't think its a bad thing, but in extroverted environments it could be seen as a weakness. In previous generations people would just think something was wrong with you if you were on the extreme end of introversion instead of seeing it as a natural neurological occurence. I think if someones constantly talking about it maybe they're probably just trying to understand themselves and want others to understand them as well, but theres probably a bit of self victimization going on as well.. wink

You can stop making excuses for the guy at any time now. He used to simulate masturbation with his guitar onstage. The FACT is, if he had any shred of business savvy, sense or interest in preserving a solid fanbase & engaging with anyone beyond the devout psychofams, he could maintain a web presence for more than a year or two at a time (and that's at a long stretch).

Many artists are eccentric introverts who don't maintain a web presence themselves. David Byrne for another example. Tim Burton. David Bowie. Steve Ditko, Frank Miller. Andy Warhol, while a nightclubber, was a socially awkward intervert behind his camera. That doesn't make them idiots or assholes. That doesn't mean they hate people or their fans. Many artists don't make great business men. Those are not excuses, just facts.

I probably would agree with this, however I dont think he should have shut down all accounts so quickly after the release of the two CDs. unless ofcourse he's now retiring this 3rd Eye act already and will come back with a new band. I'm at the point where I spend my time enjoying other artists and dont pay Prince any mind until an official tour or CD is released. And it's been awhile now since a tour has occured in the US.

Either someone spiked your egg nog or you need to really check your facts. David Bowie? He's had an official website for MANY years.

Prince doesn't need a website to make him an asshole. He's done that well enough on his own.

Whats that? Your attempt at insult comedy? Don Rickles you are not. David Bowie's not an introvert? Baloney. David Bowie basically retired from public life for MANY years from 2004 to 2013 making few public appearances, and you think he's posting on davidbowie.com himself for years? He has a publicit named Mitch Schneider with a public relations firm. And no, not posting online doesn't make Prince an asshole, either, but your posts on the other hand are making you look not so loveable, ya think, and more like Ebenezer Scrooge...If you dislike Prince so much and think he's such a bad guy why are you posting on a Prince online fan community so much? Just to troll with snarky insults apparently. You remind me why I rarely post here anymore.

His behaviour seems a bit crazy at the moment, I have to say.

If he deletes his own Facebook page now and comes up with a new one later on then he's going to look quite silly. However, if he's made the decision to just end the "3rd Eye Girl" era and move then I'm not completely opposed to his more recent decisions. 3rd Eye Girl is not something that really should have gone for such an extended period of time. It's just not that interesting in the end.

Yes I figure he just used those accounts for promotional purposes and now feels no need to promote, so might as well erase them.
