Prince is a musician, someone who's been notoriously excentric for decades, no one can claim they had no idea he would do the things he does. He's like Salvadore Dali, always expect a modicum of excentricity. That would be a mature way of approaching it.

So my interest in coming here is not to hate on Prince. It's to hang out for a few, with people I like hanging out with in cyberspace and keeping this place active because as I'm concerned, it's the only Prince Fan Community site that's still standing. But I can list far more experiences of seeing his hair absolutely flawless after that because that's the way he's ALWAYS presented himself for the majority of the next 30 years. And even when his music has been lackluster, his fashion/style and live perfomances would make up for it and then some. I saw the Yahoo thing and SNL and umm yeah, seeing that picture with his fro looking like that; bothered me enough to create an entire thread about it.

That is my opinion of people who do engage in this not just here on the Org but elsewhere, about any celebrity. The notion Prince would lose it over criticism of his hair was ridiculous by itself (which is why we had a good laugh on the other thread -- still can't believe you thought for a second I was serious about that "dis on the net"), but not the notion he (or any other celebrity) should be bashed on a daily basis. I've written my share of Kanie-hate posts, but I wouldn't make it an hobby.

I hear you, but I think his current look is pretty middle of the road as far as Prince goes. I mean, if you think that picture/hair/clothes/style looks "looks whack", it seems like you would have a problem with Prince's look a good percentage of the time.

On the whole, Prince in his late 50's is looking a lot flyer than he often did in the 70's (Biker shorts and suspenders?) the 80's (Lovesexy polkadot spandex?) and the 90's (mushroom hair* of Act II tour).

*It should be noted that I adored the typhoon do of 1991 and 1992. However, it morphed into something scary right around the time of the name change in '93.
