Appolonia 6 CD: missed purchase.

Went to my used CD store today. A guy picked up and bought Appolonia 6 on CD for $10, just before I would have spotted it and bought it. Should I be annoyed at the missed opp? It's hardly a holy grail but I have collector tendencies and it doesn't come up that often.
I have it as Flacs at home, so I hope that actually listening to it will neutralise the feeling of missed opportunity.

(I bought a GCS cd for $7, not a P related one)

Ouch, that sucks! I would be super annoyed if that happened to me.

I remember walking into Amoeba records in SF & buying both Madhouse albums on CD. It was like hitting the holy grail at the time. 8 bucks apiece

You could be upset about it, but I encourage you to take inspiration instead. If that guy could discover a find like A6 in a local used cd store, so can you. There are other people out there with a copy of that cd at home just collecting dust on a shelf, and any one of them would be only too happy to part with it and give up to a good home. If you want it bad enough, I'm confident you'll find another copy for yourself. cool At least you can still listen to it at home.

.

Good deal on Graham Central Station!

Yeah. Shouldn't complain. As a latecomer to buying Prince's music I've had most of the major releases for good prices. Think I'll post my list of buys from the last few months later.

Do you live in Japan? Take solace that it was likely a bootleg.

Australia. On discogs the only cd listed is an unofficial release. So yeah, probably a boot from a vinyl rip anyway.

Turns out I don't have A6 on my HDD after all, I actually have Vanity 6 files. So A6 still remains on my unheard list. (Can't be sure I'm missing much though shrug )

Apollonia 6 has some great moments. I'd be depressed as fuck if I were you. Happy Friday.

Sex Shooter and A Million Miles are just about worth listening to if you're interested in putting together a kitsch, 'what music from 1984 had something to do with Prince but wasn't very good' playlist.

The rest doesn't even come up to that standard. The rest is trashville. Listen to the FLACS, be thankful you didn't spend money on the CD, and be annoyed at how much drive space that crappy album is taking up with its FLACS.

EDIT:

Ah, just saw you don't have it... in that case, go to YouTube, google Sex Shooter, listen, realise you don't need to listen to that again for another 20 years, and be thankful you don't own the rest of the terrible album, or have it taking up valuable hard drive space.

I'll allow Million Miles as passable, but the rest is pure drivel.

About as funky as Kim Wilde duetting with James Last.

IF it was not a boot, I would have offered the other patron $5 to let me buy it. If it WAS a boot, it's not worth $10 anyway so you are better off... wink
