Everybody Want What They Don't Got appreciation

I've loved this 1 since it was just a snippet music. So happy to have the rest though, even it is a little short cool. Ooh, I really like what my neighbors drivin'. No, I don't care how long he been strivin' dancing jig. Those drums, the oddball lyrics, everything, just classic Prince! Anyone else feelin' this song like I am? biggrin

For all time I am with you, you are with me.

I think it's dope too! For some reason, I find the lyrics to be rather sad. lol Definitely happy to finally hear the full song, & I wish it was longer too. biggrin

Very catchy. There's a certain swing to it that I love.

I too loved it when I heard the snippet. When I heard the full version, I didn't expect or wanted it to end so quickly. Such a quirky song that should have seen a proper release.

I'd never heard the snippet. So the other day upon the very first listen - for ME - it was like opening a door and suddenly seeing a very dear old friend, I've been TRULY MISSING standing there. excited touched hug

You know I just freaking it!

That's such a good analogy! These songs may be new to us, but the instant familiarity of that era makes it seem like something we've always known.

You know how the news will occaisionally have those stories about the post office finding a love letter hidden somewhere and finally delivering it decades later? This feels like that. We've finally received this letter from quirky Parade-era Prince smile

I love it, "charming" song, very Beatle-esque.

Great the full version finally surfaced...

Showcases Prince's originality and creativity again just as Adonis and Bathsheba does! Love the meaningful lyrics too...love it when he's trying to make a point as well as the music...

Only thing is sound quality not as good as sample circulated a few years back.

I aboslutely love this song biggrin it reminds me of Todd Rundgren and some of his earlier stuff, namely "We Gotta Get You A Woman" and "You Really Left Me Sore". Oh and like someone said earlier, it also reminds me of the Beatles, especially like Pauls songs in particular. I can totally hear those horn lines on a song like Penny Lane, and the attitude of the song reminds me of Maxwell's Silver Hammer.

Purple is the color of my heart,
Bruised from you leaving me.

IT WON'T GET OUT OF MY HEAD.

IT WON'T GET OUT OF MY HEAD.

IT WON'T GET OUT OF MY HEAD.

This song has been playing on a loop in my brain for days, and just as I begin to forget it, this thread pops up.

(Nonetheless, I never skip it in my Dream Factory/Crystal Ball album/playlist thingie, so it's mostly my fault.)

Not to be too negative but I think it's a bit of a failure at what it's going for, comes across a bit lame and trying too hard to me... but at the same time it's cool to hear him aiming for that kind of song. I can see why it was shelved but glad it exists.
