Meaning it's sold less than 6,000 copies...

Sadly the SNL performance did little to help with sales.

I feel bad for Plectrum Electrum, it will be his 2nd lowest selling album of all time.

I'm more interested in the airplay of "U Know". Prince's FB page has really been pushing this song and it seems some stations have added it, but don't know if it's really gaining traction anywhere else.

not to be rude...but i swear that some folks on here still expect million selling albums. to be top 10 on two charts 6 weeks after release is pretty damned good. top 75 pop is pretty good too.

by the way--he doesn't curse and do splits anymore either. mad

I have yet 2 see any advertising for either of these projects.

I'd say it is going strong considering.

Âll signs from the band show that a tour is being prepared, so I'd hold off the hastey pronouncements.

Change it one more time..

And you likely won't. Prince has no clue how to promote himself. With absolutely no experience managing an act, and no experience in advertising or promotion, he could have done several things to bring some attention to the project:

Well, I was gonna post it all here, but I'm gonna create a thread of what could have been.

I'm not looking at it that way. Prince knows that every dime spent on Marketing goes against an expense that he has 2 cover. He just chooses 2 let the project do what it does without that expense.

Some promotion is expensive, but if you read my entire thread I posted about 2014 Should have been a big Prince year...the actual expenses are minimal. You don't need an expensive PR firm to have good ideas. I am no geenyus or genius even, and my ideas were well thought out, and would've brought more sales to the project. If you are an over positive Prince brown nose, then everything Prince does is PERFECT. If you are like Bart Van Halen, Prince is horrible with every possible move since 1993 or so, and incapable of doing anything right...

If you are honest...he simply looks like he's lazy and going through the motions, but still has incredible talent, and still puts out mostly awesome studio material. He has no abilty to do a structured tour with tickets on sale 2 months in advance...he wants Hit N Run style tours with tickets going on the day of the show, and then complains when the venue doesn't sell out...

Remember the 2004 Musicology tour and album were a huge success. He can promote if he wants to. He has given a lot to us fans. If he wants to chill and do less, by God he has earned that right. Who are we to tell him how to run his career or how he should live his life?

-- Exactly it WB job to get the music on the radio and do some advertising. Prince could spend his own money traveling to T.V shows but it will not get the music radio. I hope he is getting ready to tour and working on the next project.

When have you heard him complain about venues not selling out I think he knows the risk when he does Hit and Run he has been doing them for over 30 years. How can somebody with such a large catalog be considered lazy? How is he not capable of doing a full tour did he forget from 2004? Dude does just what he wants and he gets away with it which bugs the shit out of people.

Prince will tour with 3rd eye, but he is gonna have do the hits u know that, sure he will toss in things from both new records, but dont think the 56 year old Prince is gonna give you the "Rainbow Children" tour where he did pretty much did that whole album and had to do smaller venues because you know people werent having that. Thats why Musicology turned into the HITS jukebox, and why in 1997 Emancipation was nothing but Hits, and he had 36 tracks to pick from and never played more than 3 at a show. So i think he is gonna re-do his hits in new versions on this tour because im sure he is getting bit tired of rolling out "lets go crazy" and "kiss"

Know who's got no clue? You -- Prince knows exactly what he could be doing. He's not doing that -- go figure it out.
