Empty Room 85

The new leak version sounds amazing.

I've always thought that this version was a 1994 update and associated it with the gold experience era. This is probably due to the video.

I was wondering where people where now going file it, under 1985 or with the gold era stuff.

I've put it on my two cd 2 hour set of songs from 1985/1986 and it fits in now really well.

I first heard the 1992 version for the "I'll do anything" soundtrack. I like this stripped down version a lot. All the songs for this project were really good.

The question is was there a 94 version?

A video was filmed but it is now believed that the song it's self was not reworked.

You know this through me in a loop too. I've had this track for years now but always assumed it was from the 90's
Thats what happens when you get these compilations, sets with no real info
And call me crazy, but now that i know its from 85 the guitar totally has that 80's sound lol

If i were to break up that BFTP 2.0 set, which i probably will do, I'd place it under 1985 cool

I mentioned this in the other thread - real surprise to me it's from 85 and not 94 after seeing the video at a Gold concert and believing it had that NPG 93/95 sound. I'll always associate it with that era

Beautiful song, can't wait to hear it in good quality. I wondered when I first heard it at a Gold Experience gig in London in '95 if it was an archival song due to the guitar sound and finger cymbals, but disregarded it as the other songs seemed new. Makes sense now.

As far as filing - i'd throw it under 1985, but i include it on my "Gold Era" playlist. biggrin

Such a great song, and he's obviously very fond of it, another mystery why he won't put it out for the rest of the world to hear!
