P was not so much into receiving awards.

Awards ceremonies a re blip on the timeline.

e.g. Christmas is period of commercial hoopla and perhaps a core of the Story in there.

That means it lasts longer, may have more momentum, etc.

I don't mean he will or needs to receive awards. That wouldn't be the focus. If he just shows up or does a surprise medley of songs, it will sure get enough media attention and press. What he's doing now is not up to snuff. For them to just release it wouldn't do much justice. It will sell more than these new albums are selling, but some promo backing wouldn't be bad. The fact that there's no listing or press release for this only proves that a Christmas release will be least likely of happening.

I'd imagine there will be a big Promo push for PR, the two new albums they knew wouldnt sell the numbers to justify it hence very little promo. I'd be surprised if they have just about broken even on them.

Was there any press release for the 2 new albums dropping? Sure Pre-orders went up a month before or something didnt they? There is Plenty of time.

SNL something will be annouced, weather it be PR or a World tour.

Yes, there was a press release for the two albums after they were announced. The funny thing is the night before they were announced on GMA, folks already knew. Pre-orders went up the night before. Bad timing.

Anyway you all want to cut it--I seriously doubt that the reissue for Purple Rain is happening this year. Let's just play it by ear. I wouldn't be surprised if Warners mentioned remasters as a surprise tactic to woe folks into these new albums. I find it pretty perplexing that no release dates are ever mentioned. If Prince confirmed that the remasters "were done," then what else can be planned? There is plenty of time, so I ain't losing sleep over it. It's his legacy.

Do you really think that something will be announced this weekend on SNL? Uh, I don't at least. It will give a boost for the new albums, but there's no tour or reissue going to be announced. We shall see though.

It would be foolish of Prince and Warners to not take advantage of the Christmas shopping season! I can't think of a more exciting "stocking stuffer" than a remastered Purple Rain set...complete with previously unreleased bonus tracks!!

He's not going to put it out when he is trying to sell new albums. People would drop the new ones and run towards PR. You may see it in a few months.

I still think there's going to be a PR deluxe hint/promo tonight on SNL. His two new albums have already been released, so the timing would be right for something else now.

It's a conceptual reissue...it's already in your heart when you're ready to reach for it.

I almost think he'd do better reissuing Diamonds & Pearls or one of those 90's records. 90's era poppy hip hop music seems to be dominating retail store playlists, and the kids are just now rediscovering that new jack kinda sound.

But yeah, I agree, he's got too many new records out for them to release the reissue now.

A CD5? A DVD? Blue-thing?

It looks thin so no multi-disc CD5, so I guess it's a DVD or bluray.

I see no WB logo or anything so I start to doubt it is legit.

It looks like its in Plastic packaging and no proper case so I suspect its one of them Dodgy copies from a Chinese guy who walks around the street askingif you wanna buy DVD's
