For me it is impossible to include the new albums in the top 10 list. Because there are songs on the albums that I like instantly, but the best songs have to grow on me. For example, when Purple Rain came out my favourite songs were Let's Go Crazy, When Doves Cry, I Would Die 4 U and Purple Rain. Years later my favourite songs are Compute Blue and The Beautiful Ones. I listen to AOA and PE a lot these days, but it takes years before I can really say if it's a top 10 album. When I still enjoy them in 2016......maybe. This is my top 10 list for now:

Yeah. I'm not saying "best" albums, just my favourite - there's a difference. Lovesexy is so nearly there, but I'm so over stuff like Purple Rain and SOTT especially. | |

Fair enough. Although I seldom feel the need to spin PR or SOTT, they are timeless and will always be my go-to albums for showing someone why Prince is a genius. |

1.ATWIAD (he's in a pensive mood) 2.SOTT (the song concepts!) 3.Parade (lots of styles, blend together well, atypical instrumentation) 4.Purple Rain (back to back monster songs) 5.The Black Album (too funky) 6.Dirty Mind (that sound! and the lyrics) 7.Lovesexy (would have been higher hadn't it been slightly overproduced) 8.The Gold Experience (some amazing songs) 9.Controversy (the highlights rank very high!- 10.Love Symbol (mainly nostalgia I guess) Close to top 10 : 1999.
