Your Favorite Soundboard Release?

We are lucky to have so many excellent soundboard recordings these days. Not the knock audience recordings, which can have their own merits, but a great soundboard show just kicks my ass. What are your favorites? Mine are the 1984 birthday show (if that was an official physical release I'd want to be buried in copies of it, or possibly burned together so our ashes became one) and the 2009 Montreux shows. But there are so many others. What are your favorites?

The birthday show, with small club a close 2nd. But that birthday show...wow. Such a great show on the eve of his taking over the world.

There have been incredible soundboard boot releases, but with Small CluB I only love the first two tracks ( the others are either cool but conservative or have some mix problems), and then with other boots, I like other sections but then not others. But I'd have to say "welcome to the beautiful experience" is a solid sequence all the way through.

1987 Paris...and a bunch of shows are right on par:

1986 First Ave Parade Preview... it's not a soundboard, and doesn't really sound like a SBD recording, but it sounds great anyways, and the great versions of so many great songs....Alexa De Paris, Paisley Park. So I pretend it's a soundboard

1983 First Ave....hard to rank anything above this one...but I did. Too legendary a performance to even think anyone doesn't know...but obviously, the Purple Rain preview show, almost a year before the album and movie, and the debut, and only complete performance of "Electric Intercourse."

1984 First Ave Birthday Show...so many unreleased or rarely performed songs, and either the debut or close to the debut of When Doves Cry.

1987 First Ave...amazing show, SOTT preview...missing the opening SOTT/Sunshine performance from the tour, but a great show either way

1982 New Orleans...my favorite Controversy show, and favorite pre-fame performance by far.

1986 Paris, and 1986 Stockholm...perfect compliment to the March 86 First Ave show...the tour is more structured and smooth for these shows...great to hear the start and finish of the tour.

We're lucky to have these. If Prince had the common sense to have used properly leak control, we wouldn't have them...but he was probably too busy planning fan lawsuit strategy to cover the leaks. Just kidding...but you know the rest.
