Paisley Park show this weekend??? flyaway contest

So we still don't have word on when this concert at paisley park will be. Its Thursday and he has until Sunday to make good on the contest deal. What's going on with this, it would be nice to know when this is going down, I'm assuming it will be Saturday and I'm also assuming it will be open to the public, but it would be cool to have official information about this show.

I bet it is probably just for those lucky few in the know that live in MPLS. You know, the ones that worship his every move.

I'm one of those lucky few that live in MPLS, I'M 45 minutes from paisley park, I don't worship his every move, but love going there to see shows. I've been going there since the '90's, and its a lot of fun, and is really cool to see him play there as opposed to a big arena type setting. Just wish they would announce it.

Having flown in from out of town for three of the Paisley Park After Dark events--none of which featured an appearance by Prince--I've thought a lot about why they don't give more notice when Prince plans to appear. Apart from the fact that Prince probably makes a lot of these decisions at the last minute, the venue only holds a certain number of people. If they announced that Prince would be performing at Paisley Park on a certain date six months from now, you can bet that many people would fly in from out of town, and it might end up being more than can actually fit into the venue. Of course, that problem could be dealt with by selling tickets in advance, but then scalpers would get involved. So I guess this is what we get. It will be interesting to see what happens this time, with the contest and all.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Last October it was announced 2 days before that the New Power Generation were going to be playing, no mention of Prince, and it was insane. People had started lining up early in the day on Saturday. When I got there people were lined up all the way down Audobon Road to where that daycare center is, and then all the way down that road and nearly all the way back up it. I'm not sure if everyone who was in line got in or not. We were packed like sardines in Paisley Park. The pajama party event was much better, advertised as a pajama party that started at 2:00am. There were probably less than 1/2 the people that were there 2 weeks before. Better show too! cool

If they were going to announce in advance that Prince was definitely going to perform, that would be a mess. I've only been to a few events where they sold tickets in advance. Still hoping for a show this weekend!

Looks like there is going to be a "dance party" tomorrow night, if I'm reading the 3RDEYEGIRL tweet right. "Somebody page Donna...and tell her there is a dance party Sat night." Hopefully it will really be the contest concert.

You are correct. They don't announce Prince is going to play because the crowd would be way too large to handle. They prefer to have the smaller crowds at Paisley as it is much easier to manage and safer for everyone involved.
