What is being lit up at the beginning of "Time"? (Drug use on AOA)

OK someone already beat to starting the water bong thread for "The Gold Standard" - I share that opinion bu the way - but I also think I hear the sound of some paper being rolled and something lit up towards the beginning of the song "Time". Does anyone else hear it? What is your opinion?

I am sure someone will say "she is lighting a candle" or something quite innocent - we'll see smile

But in general it seems there are a few drug inferences on this record but as usual it is not overt and somewhat coy and open to interpretation...

It doesn't sound like candle, but who knows? Drugs have been a prominent part of Prince's music since the late 80's, so it wouldn't surprise me, if that's where they were going with it.

Yeah, something funky is definitely going on in that song. Sounds like someone lighting up for sure. But, why?

To me that song seems like a departure from the programme, a deviation even. First of all, sound like Prince is singing it over the phone.

And after we just hear in affirmation i and ii that "me" and "mine" do not exist, Prince sings "it's about time I make you my pet".

And did you catch Andy's chuckle when he says "it's about time I stop playing hard to get with an animal half my age?"

What gives?

Does it sound to anyone else that this song is a kind of detour? Maybe that explains the apparent sound of a joint being lit up?

I dont know, I guess I'm kind of rambling here, but it's interesting to me.

What does "getting high on something that doesn't require clouds" mean anyway?
