Prince Will Never Have Another Top 40 Hit

EVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I know y'all are cray about him making hits. But Cannibal Corpse has a higher chance of getting a hit at this point. The dude has over 20 top 40 hits. It's fine if he never has anothe big one again. And he won't... EVER!!!

I'm here for y'all if you need therapy. And don't forget to say something nice about Tony M.

Thing's more likely to happen before prince gets another hit

1. Graffiti Bridge will have a sequel

2. Michael Jackson was in the illuminati

3. Machine Head tuns ot christian rap

4. Elton John & Madonna duet

5. Kanye not talking for 5 years

6. Beyonce fans will become humans.

7. McDonalds will serve only healthy foods

8. Tony M. Will come to 3eyedgirl

9. Will Smith will come out of the closet

10. Prince will take off his wig and reveal he's Tracy Chapman.

Presumably you mean singles? Because he's literally got 2 albums in the top 40 right now.

Singles - Probably not under his own name. If THAT Rita Ora song ever gets released he will. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more duets and "produced/written by Prince" credits in the coming years.

As a solo artist unless he can score again with a soundtrack song or perhaps if he were to licence a catchy song to a TV advert thus drumming it into peoples heads before it was released. It's not hard to imagine a song like "Somewhere here on earth" on some incomprehensible designer perfume advert.

But yeh, he doesn't seem to be keen on doing too much promo for an album so he certainly wouldn't put in the effort needed to work a single into the charts (without a record company really pushing it).

Prince's last classic single was TMBGITW

Prince's last single with hit potential was Black Sweat

I only say that cause of the fams here. Constantly talking and worrying about prince and his singles numbers. I really don't see why having another hit means anything.

Oh yeah! singles... albums i am sure he will always debut in the top 10. But i personally feel he has tried to have hit singles ala Black Sweat and Guitar. And even some of the songs of musciology. But i feel he's way past that now.

BOTH TRUE!

Although Black Sweat was decently well known. Some kids at school liked and knew the song when i was in 10th grade.

I've been enjoying myself the past days with Prince's recent output. Headphones on, red whine...relaxing after a days work. Prince has delivered a good set of albums.

Really enjoying.

And I don't care if he ever will get a hit.

Because I'm just enjoying myself.

Of course not, his output has been shocking since then. Having said that, it looks like he's only released 7 singles since 2000 (that were eligible to chart), and 2 of those were re-releases of Purple Rain.

As long as i can actually buy his new albums and they're not rolled up in some European newspaper like a fucking dog turd, I couldn't care less whether he has s hit single or not.

I would have said no myself but then I listened to the snippets of the two new tracks during his Yahoo fiasco and it gives me reason to believe he may still have it in him. Those two songs sounded nothing like the stuff on AOA or its special twin Mpsound.

As a tease it worked, I still look forward to his new work, never count him out.

I enjoyed the maxi-singles and EPs. It's a shame those kinds of releases are dissapearing. The accoustic version of Space come on!! The Universal love mix was awesome too. Gettoff/Gangster Glam/Violet the organ grinder - the extended I Hate You, I think that also had an eric leeds mix? Awesome stuff.

Sure, a top 40 hit would be nice, but if it mattered that much to them they would have stopped buying the music long ago.

Since I've been a fan, it's never been 'cool' to like Prince in my immediate circle of friends, so I could shive a get. I will always enjoy his tunes regardless.

Prince has not had a HIT SINGLE (crossover) in 21 years, thats right 21 years, people dont like to hear this, but it is reality just freaking deal with it, the world is different the industry is not what and where it was, videos dont get played artists that have BIG albums rarely have a single to go with it, bruce springsteen will debut at number one but never chart a single from that number one album THAT IS UNHEARD OF in any ERA!!
