PLECTRUM ELECTRUM blows AOA away!!

Plectrum Electrum is the straight ahead
Rock album us fans have wanted for years.
"wow",""Aintturinround","Anotherlove",
"marz"..even the tracks " tic tac toe" &
"Stopthistrain" are simple focused songs..
AOA is prince by the numbers. The only songs
That are decent "way back home" & "time".
"Art offical cage" & " the gold standard" does
Nothing for me.. the rest of the album is just
okay,in my opinion..
For me,PLECTRUM ELECTRUM" best album since
TRC hands down.. Prince seems to be inspired
more when he has other band members
That challenge him.

Lotus did that for me and it's far superior to PE imo.

RIP sad

I certainly hope you're wrong. Of the two, I have only listened to PE so far and it's deeply disappointing.

Please stop embarrassing yourself.

I so wanted to love Plectrumelectrum with it being 'proper' music with the band but there are too many tracks I already skip ...AOA doesn't have any yet for me apart from the couple of singles which I've heard too many times in the build up. Even though it's a unreservedly hypocritical offering from Prince with it being a machine driven album, it's still way ahead of Plectrumelectrum for me. Plectrumelectrum feels like an associated artists album for me

AOA is definitly better than PE. The songs are more polished. PE is good, but it could've have been better. FunkNRoll on AOA is far superior to the one on PE. Hey, to each their own. I'm happy to have a funk album and a rock album by Prince.

AOA is a much more cohesive album. Listen to it on headphones to pick up all the little nuances on there. Great return to form. PE's nothing more then a throwaway except for the 3 trax everyone cites.

With you in FunkNRoll...it's weirdly toothless on PE

There's some really good stuff on PE. If it had been released a year ago, I would have shit myself because it was so fresh sounding. But AOA is so damn strong that it completely overshadows PE in my opinion. It's truly an album and not just a collection of songs. It has notes of classic Prince weirdness and experimentation all over it. And there's not a single song I want to skip. I skip several on PE already.

Some like funk, some like heavy guitar... I like both, but AOA has my vote by 0.01% 🎉

I think Plec could have been a great rock album but Prince destroyed this opportunity, the album isn't half as good as Lotus. I would have preferd a few instrumentals rock tracks instead of Tictactoe, Whitecaps, Boytrouble etc.

Really amazing how so many who love one album hate the other. I guess Prince knows this by now.

For me there really isn't much in it. I find both highly enjoyable.

Again Lotusflower vs Plectrumelectrum, both really good albums.

I agree with the original post up top-- I've listened to ELECTRUM over and over the past few days, and prior to that had just revisited LOTUS FLOW3R, which I like quite a bit. ELECTRUM rocks just a bit harder, and is just overall a little better. It's also nice to hear a blend of lead vocals on the record, bringing it a bit back to the earlier days when you heard all kinds of lead and background vocals throughout the records. ELECTRUM is much fun!

Nah. It has its moments. Wow and Anotherlove are great. Funknroll is fine. Pretzel is ok.
But it gets bogged down with weak melodies, bratty vocals, lack of choruses. Marz is just a rock version of Everybody Loves Me, it's equally as annoying.
AOA all the way for me.

I wouldnt say it "blows it away" but I think I like PE more.. or at least Im listening to it about 5 times more than AOA. The sound quality on AOA seems a littler better but the actual songs I like more on PE. I woke up this morning with TICTACTOE in my head, and I play Boytrouble all the time (ive even come to like the raps on it and I hated them at first). STOPTHISTRAIN, ANOTHERLOVE and WOW are top notch. Mars is great when I need a little more high energy. Even AINTURNINROUND which I think is a slight weak spot on the album I find myself singing to myself despite my attempts to get it out of my head.

Change it one more time..
