BOYTROUBLE appreciation

I almost feel like I shouldn't like this song. I mean ... it's a little silly, right?

Then why does it Funk so hard? It reminds me of something he would have written for Vanity 6. Replace the (kick ass) guitar lick with a synth lick. The live drums with the Linn. Put it out in 1982. Funk.

And the solo? Say what?!?! Too good.

I've gone back to the track a few times. Dig. It.

Romeoblu

The bass rules on both albums, but especially on Plectrum.

If there was no singing it would rock. The lyrics and vocals render it unlistenable.

It's a great little track. Just sounds a bit out of place on the album. Has anyone worked out the gibberish yet? There are words in there somewhere.

This track is actually quite like classic Prince pop/funk b-side type stuff in attitude and groove. I think it's really good.

My thoughts exactly. Musicly it reminds me of Madhouse which is a good thing smile
But the rap, vocals, chorus disbelief I cant handle it, I would rather listen to a Carmen Electra track lol
I actually had this song last on my playlist yesterday and once it came on i just turned it off

Cant believe my purple psychedelic pimp slap pimp2

And I descend from grace, In arms of undertow

I like it too for the same reasons, the vocals are a bit silly but that groove is very funky!

One of the better tracks on Plectrum...it has a cool, Princey groove and quirky Princess Superstar-like vocals.

I love this track too! The rap vocals, the funky guitar, bass and groovin' drums. Love the chorus too. Great stuff.

This.

Love this cut, a cross between Madhouse and Vanity 6. The vocals work fantastically on this. True.

Yep, reminds me of the Vanity 6 days too. Can't say that I love it, but as a Prince fan, I feel like it's ok.

I really love that bass, because without it, this song is in the Mr Happy/Jughead, we gets up and Graffiti Bridge level (1/10).

.

With bass its elevated to the Arrogance/The Flow/Everybody loves me/ Solo level lol (2/10).

.

Seriously I agree with the Peach and Black crew, this is a filler track and a bad one, think of all the better songs that could have gone on like Screwdriver, Da Bourgeoisie, Fall in love 2 nite or liveoutloud.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
