Allo and La Havas Compliment AOA Nicely

It is the rarest of occassions that I appreciate any collaboration on a Prince album, but Andy Allo and Lianne La Havas make AOA even better. Andy on Time is just esquisite. Lianne's spoken voice and singing help give the album an identity. I can't get Lianne's chorus from affirmation/way back home out of my head. That chorus is really the most memorable portion of the album and I mean that in a good way. They also are not too bad on the eyes either.

I never really cared much about Andy Allo when she was still around ( she barely played guitar when she was part of the NPG ) and I never checked out her own material but I love, love, love her singing and her aura on AOA. This Is What It Feels Like is a great song and I´m already addicted to the song Time.

Guess I have to give her Superconductor album a chance now. lol

I think she´s been a great inspiration for Prince.....down to earth, beautiful, and a true muse.

Time is easily one of my favorite Prince songs of the last two decades. I like the beat, the bass, the synth horns in combination with the real horns, I like the vulnerability in the lyrics, the humor...even though the lyrics are a tad sexist....and I like Andy´s smoky, raspy, light voice and that the song goes on and on...as far as I´m concerned it could be twice as long or longer. I can´t get enough of it. lol

And the fact that Prince is literally phoning it in is priceless. wink

YAY Andy Allo. thumbs up!

I also like her version of We Can Funk, even though I dislike that she changed it to Oui Can Luv.

But I still find it very enjoyable.

The parts of Lianne La Havas are great, too, but I have the feeling that the spoken parts will make the album age badly and give it a dated touch a few years from now, pretty much like that NPG Operator and the segues on The Gold Experience.

Love the idea of a concept album though.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
