4/5 - One of the most interesting, cohesive, and intelligent Prince albums in a long time. Great use of space (eg. Funknroll), most refined application of the concept album approach he's done.

2.5/5

While one of Prince's more focused and consistent albums, it's consistently average trend-chasing R&B/pop, with only a few Princely gems (Clouds, The Breakdown).

4, I didn't like it from the snippets online however, the CD pulls the work together & makes for a good listen.

4/5 Pleasingly inventive and modern..I wouldn't be embarrassed to play it in public, as it sounds contemporary. Deserves the advertising that previous albums didn't.

4/5 - love this album!! So many different sounds from Prince, with familiar elements. My favourite song without a doubt is "way back home," it's so haunting yet, beautiful!

Listened for a few weeks now and my rating has ROCKETED from initially POOR to SILK. I should stop letting the negativity around here alter my perception.

A fresh, organic, new sound! With a mixture of the old & new prince.

Eye listen to it everyday on my "BeatzByDre" headphones! Especially when Eye'm working this body out @ the gym. It is very addictive & energizes my ears... This album has BLOWN me COMPLETELY away! Eye am so proud of prince. My only wish, is that he doesn't give up on the promotion of it. It has so many potential hits!

This would b the PERFECT album 4 him to retire off of, Then groom Josh as his heir apparent...

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

Another mixed bag. Uneven- songs like ArtOfficial Cage, Clouds, Breakfast Can Wait aren't seen thru- he ruins them with weird vocal directions or noise/sounds before they're over. The Breakdown too, degenerates into unintelligible screaming- but without soul ala 3121's "The Dance". "Time" is reminiscent of "Positivity", OK track, but ending the album on a whimper.

4.5/5 I'm sure this album will grow on me over time but it is really good, it's probably his best since Emancipation or Musicology, I love it listening to it now as I type this.

2.5/5

Occasional moments of brilliance overshadowed by the same constant reminders since The Gold Experience that Prince is well past his creative prime.

1.5 out of 5

Passable at best, it lacks songs with 'hit' potential - not a single 'instant classic' here, I'm afraid.
