5 star review from Funktopia:

http://funkatopia.com/funk-music-reviews/review-prince-art-official-age/

'In all, ART OFFICIAL AGE delivers on all fronts. We just can’t give this album any less than 5 out of 5 afros and not because it’s a funk classic bringing to the altar a wealth of funk music offerings, but because anything less would be a travesty for this fantastic album.

ART OFFICIAL AGE gets our illustrious 5 star afro award.'

'Sure, it’s his greatest album since Lovesexy. But ART OFFICIAL AGE isn’t a comeback. Prince never left. This is Prince searching for a comeback of his own. Something personal that he’s letting us peek into. This album is about something inside him. It’s fascinating, beautiful and emotional. I hope he finds his way back home.

We’re all trying to find our way back home, right?'

Cool. Seem like he's scored a hit here. Maybe we'll get a good tour.

Still think Live Out Loud and Screwdriver should have been included but whatevs

Bodes very well for these albums, I'm surprised how much respect PLECTRUMELECTRUM is getting.

It's almost like I've been sexist disliking these chants.

WOW!

Theartsdesk (Australia) has two very positive (yet cautious) reviews.

In French from FranceTV.

In summary, he doesn't like the beginning of AOA but is pleased by the rest, except the resolutions. Is rather disappointed with PLEL, thinks the best track is Fixurlifeup. He concludes the best of the two would have made a great record. Fin

French review cleverly called "One Day Two Princes Will Come", this French review has nice things to say about AOA in particular, is less positive (but still favorable) to PLEL. It concludes that if you're only going to get one, get AOA.

Another French "review" from Le Point. Très positive but this article was clearly phoned in (SplectrumElectrum).

AOA is getting 4/5 from most newspapers from all over the globe. That's pretty good. Most listeners agree too, so it's not just some nostalgia thing this time.

From the Newshub, "unever" assessments in both cases though you would not guess it reading the review in the case of AOA. In terms of the stars count, it's the least favorable review I've seen in English so far.

'Art Official Age': ******6/10

‘PlectrumElectrum’: *****5/10

Art Official Age is experimental and quirky, yet enticing. With the perfect blend of old and new, familiar and explorative, it harkens a new era for one of the most prolific, innovative, and imaginative musicians of all time.

Pitchfork rips apart PlectrumElectrum and gives AOA a 6.5 here is the review:

http://pitchfork.com/revi...melectrum/

I have yet to download the new stuff but I can already tell it's probably just like some other lame Prince music (some bad tracks and some so-so tracks but no genius tracks)but lame Prince music is still Prince music so for that reason I put up with it. Otherwise I would probably never download it.
