Clicked on the WB link to see what other videos they had. Found one called "Rainbow" by Robert Plant. I enjoyed it. That is about the only thing positive I have to say. Here it is if you want to check it out:

Genuinely ear-burning garbage. Makes me miss the days of Newpower Soul.

Is this what produced by Joshua Welton means? This is rubbish music.

Since you felt that a second thread was necessary, please allow me to cross post.

OH my. The G-Man loves it. So much to say about this one. There are elements and sections where I am hearing the perfect blend of classic Prince and "updated firmware" Prince. It gets pretty sublime when those synths and guitar/synth lead hit near the end, especially with the proper Prince scream, at the perfect point. Very Gary Numan-ish at one point, as well.

.

DOPE.

I like this a lot better than anything else I've heard from the album so far.

.

Also it'll drive the chilluns at work up the wall, and that's a big plus in my book. evillol

Let's face it: the Org is full of various types of traditionalists by now.

Most of us have had a precise idea of how we like and don't like our Prince for so long that any attempt to connect with new listeners is seen as either half-baked or unworthy.

But fact is: if and when Prince connects to a new audience, it is likely to go right over most people's head here at the Org, at least at first.

I played the track on my big system and my ass started to move on its own. It has not done that in a while.

Treat it as a mere remix if you need to and listen to the other version when it gets out. To me, it's the best of both worlds.

"I don't really care what y'all be doin'" sounds like a catch phrase similar to "Ain't nobody got no time for that"........I've listened to the song a few times.......it's not bad...... It actually made me bop my head.......I think it's Prince just having some fun.......I like it............I probably would like it a lot more from some other artist......anyone that didn't create an album like "Dirty Mind" (this is where it began for me with Prince)......I do like it though and I would listen to it on an album......

^ the yeezus comparison crossed my mind too... best album of the last 10 yrs by far. he should be listening, i doubt he is though because of the subject matter.

i'm sure this will create all sorts of tears on this forum but kanye is the only artist in the music biz right now that's making music at least 5 yrs ahead of it's time (the entire sound of radio right now is 808's & heartbreak, and that album confused the shit out of people when it came out, now they're all chasing that sound)

he's a futurist in the way prince was back in the day, when he would release an album and have everyone scratching their heads and a year later everyone would be trying to emulate it.

i don't understand all the hatred this tune is getting, it's the most exciting and freshest thing i've heard from p in ages. he sounds inspired!

in fact i'm really liking everything i've heard from art official age. stoked for the release!

Sounds like a Diamonds & Pearls move - deliberately embracing the current music trends.

Having said that - I actually like it.
