I remember listening to Madrid 2 Chicago on a university computer. I wasn't able to download it or rip it, and so it got lost in the dark trenches of my memory.

I've never been able to find a decent-quality mp3 version.

Thats a good song.

Isn't this version of Gold on the 10,000 Wallpaper compilation discussed here?

There's an alternate version of "Gold" that was recorded 4 The Gold Experience that it seems like everyone else has but me. The organ and snare drum are slightly different, but the vocals and guitar solo are the same.

Unreleased or released? There's the unreleased "rough" mix which has much less synth for the most part, u talking about this one?

I finally tracked down Horny Pony. I kind of enjoyed it. Is that a form of BDSM?

The War...still never heard it to this day...or Undertaker

Undertaker is good. I think The War is a bit overrated.

My all time favorite Prince song...The War is badass.

The Undertaker is very good too.

To be honest, I don't know where to find most of this stuff. I'm not asking. Let me say that again: I'm not asking. I used to. But it just dried up. Plus, most of my collection is live material or unreleased tracks. Relatively rare released b-sides like Horny Pony are sometimes harder to find because they're not as prevalent on boots. Also, I've never torrented and wouldn't know how to start. So, yeah, I have a few gaps in my collection. I wouldn't say that doesn't make me "hardcore." I have thousands and thousands of Prince tracks. That's hardcore enough for me.

I do biggrin

.

(but the first one to ask on this thread will get a nice snip from the mods and possibly put this whole forum in trouble so please, don't ask!)

The War was a giveaway which we should be able to share so in that case it's a shame if we can't. sad

I can't think of anything that I don't already have. Not really interested in stuff from the last couple of years.

Exactly why I haven't been quick to pick it up. Jazz isn't my favorite but what I do like, it's his vocals that make up for it so, being instrumental is a double whammy for me. neutral

It's nice, for once, to read a post by someone who can admit they don't like something without saying it means it's crap biggrin

Nah, not really. I mean, there's a couple of SUPER rare unreleased things and a couple bootlegs that I've heard people talk about over the years that I don't have yet. But generally speaking, nah, I'm solid. I mean, once I got up over 3000 tracks I couldn't really keep track of everything anyway. Now it's approaching 6000, which means I can sometimes head into that hard drive and randomly come across a show or a bootleg that I don't know front to back, or may have never heard, which is nice. I don't think the few things I'm missing would make much difference.

For some reason I'm missing Osaka from C-NOTE, not sure where it went. It's possible I have it labeled wrong, but hard drive is too large to search for an obscure track. I think I heard it and liked it though

The Get Off Birthday Pomo. The one with like 4 mixes
Now i have it on vinyl, but havent owned a record player since 1993 lol

From what ive seen online this was also pressed on a promo CD
I'd like a copy of this, or even a ripped copy from vinyl lurking

However, I used to have a version of "I'll Do Anything" that's different than the one heard most often. It was a bit slower and sparser and I believe Mayte's voice could be heard on it. I loved that version. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

nod There are a couple versions. Though i dont remember Mayte on any of them
I think you are refering to what was either demo or a rehearsal played over the piano
That was part of the I'll Do Anything Sessions. It can be found one ov the **30 years Of Funk Compilations**

I think you're right and it's the piano/voice/drums version. I'm proably imagining Mayte being a part of it. Tnanks! Now to try and find it again. smile

4anothertime

There's an old addage... "You don't know what you don't know"....

I have always wanted a "clean" studio version of "U're Still The 1" Shania Twain cover...I have the version they played on the old NPGMC site wayyyy back in the day. I don't know that there ever was a good quality version. As far as what's missing....like I said...I don't know what I don't know...there could be many out there I have never heard. I am sure of it...but i have way too much to ever fully enjoy as it is.
