Am I the only one that actually likes Live Out Loud

Yeah vocals are whatever but she's cute and they are good enough and its a damn good positive tune. Better than anything else thats been released so far on PE. Why would this have been left on the cutting room floor???

Most likely you are one of the few who likes that Tampon commercial of a song...I like most of Prince's newer songs, but not this.

I like it, too. Though I can totally see why people might not like it. It's a rather simple, generic song. But I like it. Prefer it to PBL or Screwdriver, actually.

I love LOL.. especially the early 80's Robin Guthrie guitar drone sound. I would have preferred it to whitecaps on the PE album.. but its not the end of the world.
Change it one more time..

I like all the new material but detested this. I think it's one of the worst songs Prince has ever been associated with. Worse than Purple & Gold.

artists go through many many songs before they decide on sound, fit styler etc,,dont be too harsh, it was a test song...not bad imho

I kind of like the song itself. The girl with the stuffy nose singing it kind of ruins it for me.

I'll most likely never hear it again. Not even worth tacking on to the end of Plectrum Electum as a bonus track. Because I doubt I'll ever listen to that one all the way through except once. I don't care for Hannah's singing and for all intents and purposes those songs may as well not even exist.

I've always liked this song. Good positive vibes. I also like NPS and that gets slammed regularly. To each their own.

I'm really curious if Hannah aspired to be a singer. I know Joshua did. I wonder if she did, or if she just got put in that position by Prince. Anyone know?

It would be nice to see this 3EG album do relatively well so that when Prince moves on, the band can continue on and release their own stuff. Maybe LOL will appear on a forthcoming album, should they survive when the shackles are removed.

I call it "Liv Out Loud" because Liv Warfield wrote it. The lyrics kick ass and the music by Prince is pretty good.

The song is not Hannah's best sung vocal, however.

Her voice sounds better on Whitecaps.

I like it a lot. I would love to have prince on lead vocals.

Like Whitecaps a lot too. Would love to have prince on lead vocals.

Hannah or whoever is singing on these two is pretty good. I would just like some prince vocals on my prince music.

Hannah sounds much better to me on LOL than on WC. WC sounds like they recorded everything live before she was really ready to be recorded and in the middle theres an awkward part or two or three. The recording actually sounds great on WC but i just feel like if they would have rehearsed it about 15 times before they commited anything to tape she'd have mastered the vocalizations a lot more.

I do! Odd that it was left off the album as great guitar and positive vibe. Possibly because some people could misinterpreted as a song advocating gay rights?! Wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason!

I'm a slave to whatever my ear likes. I understand the criticism of the song but when I listen to it, it pleases me. I guess it's the positivity vibe. It does have some cheesy elements, but a healthy dose of cheese is a major component in most of P's music so there u go.
