If you're going to be that pedantic, then really the "your" and "you're" that you refer to in your post ought to be marked by inverted commas! razz

Calling someone out for their grammar whilst not being fully correct with their own punctuation is really rather pathetic, don't you think? lol

Chill, if someone is on their phone it might just auto correct like that, even if they weren't on a phone, it doesn't matter, we know what they meant. It's a message board, not a literay appreciation thread.

I for one am excited about the release date of both albums.

I expected a much later release date perhaps after the PR re-issue,

but luckily we don't have to wait that long smile

$14.99 for shipping both CDs to Canada?

F%& YOU Prince and the horse you rode in on.

Guess I'll illegally download it instead.

Yes, because Prince is responsible for the shipping cost! If your cheap your just cheap.

^ what a great reply, and thats the truth....... wink lol

However, to have the vinyl sent to Denmark from Australia - that's actually rather expenssive too... the full price is about 350 DKR with shipping, the "normal price" for a vinyl is usually 179-199..... sad

Nobody buys them. Record companies continue producing them because they're full of eccentrics.

Great question I was thinking the same thing! One of his better tracks released in all of this madness

When GP was released didn't they say that it was an outtake? Wasn't really expecting to see it here to be fair. But I really like GP and don't really like Breakfast Can Wait, so can see myself swapping them on the albium when I get it depending on how it flows with Groovy on there.

RIP sad

I don't think that we can ask for more as Prince fans. We are getting a rock based album, a Prince album that will take us in a new direction, and presumably a remastered Purple Rain album with some vault material. I'm assuming that we will get a U.S. tour also. Not bad Prince.

Well in fairness, I think a lot of Orgers were very excited about these albums.. last year.

The constant false starts have somewhat dulled the experience for many, as evidenced by the low post count on this thread.

Clouds is nice, but that's subjective as is everything. Personally I hope that these two albums are cool and funky. For some reason I'm more drawn towards Plec at the moment. Pre-ordered and looking forward to getting them.

But I certainly wouldn't knock anyone for feeling jaded with the sillyness that has gone on for the last year or so with Plec. It has tried the patience of even the most hardcore of fans.

wink

Some OFFICIAL info from WB:

* Both albums will be on Vinyl.

*The album releases will also be marked by a series of very special events taking place globally, to be confirmed shortly.

.

Yeah, we haven't heard that before.

.

* ‘ART OFFICIAL AGE’ and ‘PLECTRUMELECTRUM’ offering two very distinct listening experiences.

.

Nope.

.

*‘ART OFFICIAL AGE’ is a classic Prince album

.

Nope. Unless "classic" means "the same as the dross he's put out in the past 15 years".

, produced, arranged, composed and performed by Prince and Joshua Welton

.

This year's Kirky J!

.

Sonically the record is a contemporary concoction of soul, R&B and funk. The melodies are immediate and prominent as ever and Prince’s vocals are rich and solid, taking full advantage of his vocal range with decidedly, seductive lyrics.

.

Remember when Prince used the acronym "SOS"? Yeah that.

.

*‘PLECTRUMELECTRUM’ is a classic band record, with 3RDEYEGIRL, Recorded live and in analog the album is an electrifying funk-rock statement.

.

It's sucha great record no record company wanted to touch it and it only gets released so Warners gets Prince off their backs.

.

*More live dates will be confirmed shortly.

.

Don't expect to hear anything from these albums, though. Then again, that might be a selling point.

Every year I pick my 3 favourite newly released tracks and albums. His royal badness hasn't featured in my lists since 2007's Planet Earth so what are the chances that one of these new albums will get into my top 3 this year?

So far Pharrell's Girl and the Sam Smith album seem the most interesting. Mj's new one was more fun than Bowie's overrated 2013 comeback album but I got bored with it quickly and although Bruce's album doesn't instantly grab you like 2012's wrecking ball did, it's a grower. I also have a big soft spot for the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack album.

I'm not crazy about the breakdown or breakfast can wait though I really like the new track Clouds and I've only heard the live version of FunkNroll so far which was banging so I'm excited to hear the studio version.

Pretzelbody was solid but I've already forgotten how fixurlifeup go's so the jurys out for now but I'm more excited about getting to hear Art Official Age than Plectrumelcetrum. It's a pity the screwdriver remix doesn't feature as I thought that was his best track for ages.

Bowie's The Next Day was in my top 3 albums of 2013. hmph!

Where are we now was the standout track for me. I thought it was good just not up to his old stuff like Hunky, Ziggy, Aladdin, pinups even, Low, Lodger and Outside.

My top 3 last year was obviously the exceptional Daft Punk album and my 2 and 3 go to the ubber cheesy Releases from Mr. Robin Thicke (some very Princy sounding tracks especially for the rest of my life) and Mr. Robbie Williams Swing When Your Winning (His best album since Sing When Your Winning). What were your top 2?
