You will not be able to buy this album a month before the release date, no.

I created a store acct, ordered both albums, obtained the discount and downloaded all 3 tracks without delay. Customers who live outside of the States are having problems, yes?

Yup. Appears that way. In the UK at least.

My mistake. Thought the date was the end of this month.

Panic over. Got weeks yet.

Really hope this will be in stores.

Not to mention that NPGMC members may still be a little gun shy pre-ordering albums online anymore.

Frankly, if you're not excited about two new albums from Prince, when it's been 4 years since his last one, you don't belong on this site. I'm ecstatic! And "Clouds" is absolutely killer.

You're excited about it. That's wonderful. I'm not excited about it. I think it's just more of the same ol' same ol' Prince by numbers crap that I didn't like 4 years ago. But saying I "don't belong on this site" because of that is really not your place, is it?

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Great news - terrible artwork.

I AM however hoping for some good new material - (we need it!)

Bit confused tho. Is this anything to do with Warners?

My main question.

I live England, will be able to buy these cds in my local HMV store on the 29th?

If not and it becomes a ball ache to buy i will download it illegally (very easily).

I want my cd, book & case for my money.

E-z, what I'm doing is buying the CDs via the website as it allows you to download MP3s too on the release day, so even if they don't arrive on the day I'll still have the tunes to listen to and I won't be doing anything illegal by doing so. I imagine an HMV ought to get them but this way works for me as getting to a wrecka stowa during work hours is a right ballache. Hope u sort summat out and Jamie Starr doesn't have to be a thief!

Some OFFICIAL info from WB:

*‘ART OFFICIAL AGE’ is a classic Prince album, produced, arranged, composed and performed by Prince and Joshua Welton Sonically the record is a contemporary concoction of soul, R&B and funk. The melodies are immediate and prominent as ever and Prince’s vocals are rich and solid, taking full advantage of his vocal range with decidedly, seductive lyrics.

The above suggests the Joshua Welton had a hand in the whole process, even writing (some of?) the songs. I only know of him as the husband of a 3EG member - is he any good? He isn't the Tony M of the 00s? wink

People tend to forget that Prince has been in the business for a few decades & his career didn't start with Musicology. I'm speaking for myself, but I happen to most enjoy his work from 1980 - 1998 & come here because of that & the hope that one day, there might be some archival material released. I am hoping against hope it's not bathed in the waters of Jehovah.

I'm in my account on the website, after having ordered the lot, and it still says 'pending' in the overview.

Speaking of which. Can anyone tell me: is this the same version of The Breakdown as the single version?

I have a weird feeling that I'll like about three tracks total from the combined albums. The Purple Zombies that think every two-bit track is a masterpiece, well they will be in heaven.

He has a really terrible, TERRIBLE song on YT: https://www.youtube.com/w...olsigjUplU

.

He also is responsible for the radio-friendly dance aspects of Fallinlove2nite, which he produced. I actually like the song a lot but I'm quite sure it'd have been better without him onboard.

.

But I'm not gonna judge the dude's skills on 2 songs, let's wait and see what he has to bring to the purple boat, maybe it'll be better than what I expect smile

Update: Finally received an email from Warners which contained the download links.

I purchased the CD of both albums and assumed the links would be mp3 - but they are not, they are the WAV files.

Anyone else experience this? Clouds sounds great in WAV and now i'm wonderig whether i should have purchased the WAV bundles in the first place.

Do I really need the physical CD? No reply to my query about the lack of discount yet...

Christ I'm so excited

So the tracks i've heard so far are

Plectrum Electrum

1 WOW - Played a clip before Manchester gig

Sounds like Princes take on With A Little Help From My Friends by Joe Cocker, Love it

2 PRETZELBODYLOGIC - On Itunes

Love this track, Didn't like the intro at first but like it now.

4 PLECTRUMELECTRUM - Heard him play it live and from the Vimeo clip

This is the track I'm waiting to blast from my speakers

6 FIXURLIFEUP - On Itunes

Always liked this track escpecialy the chorus on Ida's bass

8 STOPTHISTRAIN - Played a clip after Manchester gig

Reggae flavoured track a duet between Joshua and Hanna with Prince's backing vocals. I really liked the track bit like a no doubt ballad

11 MARZ - Heard him play an acoustic version at Kings Place

It's the melody from Midnight Blues track.... "lost my job in mikey dees, I gave away to much food for free... Cause I couldn't stand to see another black child go hungry... Looking forward to see what he does with it

12 FUNKNROLL - Heard it from radio broadcast and live

This track rocks and I love it

Art Official Age

2 - CLOUDS - Heard the stream today

Sounds great and I love the guitar solo. It reminds me of Somebodies Somebody studio mix

3 - BREAKDOWN - On Itunes

Love the track hope it's better mastered on the album

6 - BREAKFAST CAN WAIT - On Itunes

Not the greatest track but I do like it.

8 - WHAT IT FEELS LIKE - From livestream

If this is the same duet with Andy Allo that was streamed then it's a bit of a killer track

11 - FUNKNROLL - If I remember right he said the Remix was going to be on this album - If so I've heard it at many gigs and it's great

I'm excited. I love the cover of both albums, particularly the Art Official Age one, it has a kind of Around The World In A Day vibe, and all the vinyl records on the background... wonderful. The title is great too. Prince may not have the slightest idea of what he meant with those words (or maybe he does), but it's an stupendous title. Surprisingly, the last album title I found interesting was Diamonds And Pearls, since then it's all been mythical bullshit, fucking numbers and experiences.

---

Anyway, sadly "Fallinlove2nite" hasn't been included, it's an amazing song, his best since... whenever.
