Prince is free from Wanrer Bros, where's all the music? He fought like crazy to realase more music and get away from WB. Now we get 30 second snippets of videos and no albums. Maybe the WB was good for him to keep him on track. He used to put out a great album every year in the 80's! ______________________________________________

Um, he released plenty of music after he left Warner Brothers. Over 6 discs of material within the first three years, actually. |

It's true that,in the 90s,Prince talked alot about how he wanted to be "free" from Warners,so that he could flood the market and release music whenever he wanted.I think he soon discovered that it's easier said than done The concept seemed simple enough: start a website and sell the music independently,to the fans who want to purchase it,without a major record company/middleman.
Things certainly didn't work out that way at all.And now he's back with Warners, angry that they're taking too long to release his new album He's come full circle, hasn't he? lol

As if mr P didn't sign anything. He is an adult but behaves like a child wowed with some candy. If it wasn't because of stupidity then the reason must be money. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

. . Hardly set the world on after life at Warner Bro's though, Prince is a massive star yeah to his fans but personally I feel he could be alot bigger these days if he had stayed with them and gone with their guidence. What Prince has lacked over the years is the Distribution and pull WB had in the industry the financial backing for the big tours and things too. . I think he proven when he spoke out about WB not long after the new deal was announced with a sour taste in his mouth that he still to this day feels it should all be about him. When in actual fact although he once was their hen than laid golden eggs, He is far from that in 2014. . It's a shame but hopefully we'll see the new material before the years out, Solo album atleast.

For the PR Delux, I bet Prince is fighting with them about which unreleased tracks to release and the artwork.
Say what you will about WB, but his album and single covers were way cooler when he was with them. After he left WB the artwork has been very unprofessional, except maybe for Rainbow Children. I have seen better bootleg artwork than what he used for Emancipation, Gold, Rave, Newpower Soul, Musicology. Terrible covers! ______________________________________________

He has signed a new contract with them that most likely forces him to rerelease some, if not all of the albums he got back from them at least once with them before he can run away with them, so I wouldn't say he's free yet. I don't know whether he's free to release new music with other labels at the same time but I'd say he is, particularly since Plectrum Electrum still seems to be considered for release and it's not the album WB will release next Fall. Anyway expect Purple Rain and the new WB album for December or November, this is all we know at this point. Thankfully the majority of us don't share that opinion. |

I second that. If all the one off singles and facebook/youtube/twitter etc tracks were all on a 2cd set, I'd buy it hapily. It might be one of my least favorite albums, but a bad Prince album is better than good albums by most.

Yeah,I have that same feeling I also think that, maybe,Prince wants to include his new album as part of the package, but Warners isn't too keen on that idea.
