Peach and Black: Black Album review

I have to say, I love how the reviews these guys do. They definitely listen to everything and I will often go back to listen to something they have descirbed that I have not picked up despite 1000s of listens over the last 25 years!

What I continue to be impressed with is their observations on things I just can not hear. I know they use headphones to listen and I"m actually now looking for a very high quality pair. The Black Album review drove me nuts. They talk abouit the amazing bass lines in Le Grind....I have always thought so too but just can't make it out easily. I have great equipment but can't make it enough. They also mentioned (Captin I think) the amazing guitar parts in Le Grind...i tried, but I can no hear it.

Overall, they did say the disc was thin and tinny which we allknow is true. It is a complete shame that Prince, who put so much effort into his bass playing on this album, seems not to be bothered that you can't hear it. Does he know how crappy his stuff sounds from 1987-1988? Imean, a lot of other stuff sounds bad too but these critical albums are the worst...SOTT, TBA and Lovesexy. Maybe he is also not happy but in all these years, why would he not have done something to correct it?

Saw it pop up the other day, another great review. How come there hasn't been a thread for it already, they used to be stickied.

I asked the guys about it on Facebook and they said the show was supposed to be low key, like the original Black Album release. Things had been so quiet around here I was starting to miss the fellows. Was going to play an old review in my spare time and discovered the latest show. Those sly foxes... lol

Great review. Great album. Legendary album if you will. My fav era! I will never forget my vinyl copy arriving on my door step in 1988. Time. To do the grind.
