what's the 411 with Prince and Sheila?

Does anyone know the real story of why Prince and Shiela

went on the outs?

I saw them together in Oakland in 2011 and they were having a ball

and then shortly after that

I heard Sheila left over money issues?

if this is true

what about Princes song "Love or Money?"

Makes one think?

hmmm

Please do tell any and all you know for fact

Who knows, but I heard that Sheila is supposedly writing a tell all book of her life, and that it will include her relationship with prince.

I don't know if this is main reason,but...

A few years ago,Prince removed Sheila and her family from the opening slot on one of his San Jose shows. He replaced them with Larry Graham.

Yep, that's when she sorta made an announcement that it's time she goes out for herself.

Then later Prince summond her to Detroit for some shows there, and she turned him down.

That's when he performed Old Friends 4 Sale afterwards

everytime I listen to that W2A boot with Sheila on The Glamorous Life, I can't help but note how good it sounds. It sounds like the real deal. It sounds like that prince sound again. It sounds great! W2A has some great moments but mostly sounds like prince with a mediocre band doing kind of ok covers of his own music. When Sheila comes on it goes to a whole other level of fantastic. It is really a shame on prince that he can't keep these top caliber musicians in his touring life and instead puts all his time into cheap knock off bands that really just do not do the material justice.

Well I would love to see Prince kiss and make up with a lot of people

I think Sheila has had the short end of the stick overall when it came to Prince

He needs to put all that talk of love into action, and make things right with Sheila

I said this in a previous thread...

Prince seems to have a real problem with maintaining friendships. He and Morris Day should be best friends! lol I can't understand why he always like to be "at war" with someone,or not in touch with them at all. That's sad and disturbing. Can you imagine how cool it would be if he could make up with all these people, record some new music with them, and see what happens?! Prince,Morris,Jam and Lewis in the studio together, working on some new jams??!! Just imagine....

Well some of his so called friends did some mean stuff to him too...But it would be cool if they put the past behind them. I dont think P has anything against Morris, Jam and Terry, or Sheila. They will always be a part of his life but he is just focused on 3rdeyegirl and his solo music now.

Sheila posted this pic on FB of herself holding an advance copy of The Beat of My Own Drum. I hope it's a real page-turner of a memoir.

I've always been curious about Prince's professional relationship with people.
I don't much care for their personal relationships because I think that's really

their business if they want it to be.

But, how did he treat Shiela on tour? Was she properly compensated? etc.

There was no reason why the Gold Experience version of the NPG shouldn't

be together today. Or any iteration of the band, lest they weren't properly

compensated for the amount of work they put in.

Even a tyrant like Bruce Sprinsteen managed better relationships, no?

That's the thing with Prince, he's never been good at being a businessman. Prince also never really had lines drawn in the 1980s until it suited him. It was always mixed with personal. How could it not. Some of his best friends, high school friends, lovers/girlfriends, people who lived-eat-worked out with him -Many prior to the Purple Rain fame. Songs about lovers friends etc that's all personal.

.

Prince didn't navigate well. It wasn't really till the 1990 NPG that he really had totally hired musicians. But still Prince was never a good businessman.

.

Sheila E was from that 1980s community as he called it. A family of friends. He continued to deal with Sheila (as a tool) which is how I see it. I don't think Prince does well with emotional attachments well.

Part of me thinks she won't go too far into that stuff. She's never been to open about a lot of details.

.

I do hope she talks alot about the recording of music and her time with the Prince the bands during the 1984-1989 period

I didn't forget but I forgot to remember how great Sheila's career is. And that Prince might get just 1 chapter. We'll see.

Truly sad that their relationship disintegrated like that. I seriously doubt if she will go into real detail about it in the book. Hell it took an unsung episode for her to even go into a small detail about Prince.

This isn't the first time that he and Sheila had problems. They had a falling out in the early 90s,as well.Ironically,it was because of another falling out that Prince had with a mutual friend nuts Remember Gilbert Davison? Prince's former bodyguard who eventually became the president of Paisley Park Records? In 1994,he and Prince had a major disagreement and were no longer friends.Sheila was friends with both of them and when Prince found out that she was still "cool" with him,he ended his friendship with her, too."I'm not even allowed in Paisley Park anymore, but I still love him",Sheila said in a mid-90s interview eek Of course, they eventually kissed and made up,which means there is a chance that they will still become friends again.

I'm going to buy her book because I have met her a few times and really like her.

I had the chance to party with her sister and dad in Oakland, they were both amazing. I hate to think
they were treated poorly by Prince.

I don't know how much Sheila can even say about Prince, doesn't he have some legal backing about
how much they can share about him?
