Lady Cab Driver live

Prince performed Lady Cab Driver only on 1999 tour .If we exclude little snipets from Parade tour he played it

never again.

What do you think is the reason for not playing one of the funkiest songs ever written?

Prince knew that he had to play newer songs. He thought about playing Cab Driver on the Diamonds And Pearls tour, but he just KNEW that the masses were waiting for "Jughead" and "Daddy Pop" live.

Honestly? Prince constantly took great songs and retired them forever. Darling Nikki only came back 16 years later on the really poor Hit N Run tour of 2001, and Computer Blue has been played ONCE. The great songs he ignores is an endless list. And I don't count half assed performances of great songs like the hack job of "A Million Days" in Canada a few years back. He still can hammer out some of the best concerts ever, but still manages to mumble and fumble his way through great songs, and still ignores many others. That's his way.

thats garbage .. everyone knows prince dropped LCD on DNP tour so he could feature his most amazing song ever .. horny pony .. which of course was an underground hit on the black album level only to be surpassed the next year by 2 whom it may concern (and when will he ever pull this stroke of genius out live? .. the fans are a clamoring)

In the past, Prince has indicated that certain songs were works of fiction and therefore, not about anyone specific.
