What sort of new Prince album would you like to get next?

Remasters aside (we all want them!), what type of album would you like to get if it was all up to you? A rock album, funk, jazz, EDM, an album produced by an outside producer? You are the boss, tell me what you would like?

Prince "doesn't believe in albums" anymore ... the rest of his career will be one long continuous listening party.

A duet album with Barbra Streisand.

On a more serious note: a gospel album, if he can get it to sound like The Sacrifice Of Victor, Levi-led NPG (with Mavis, The Steeles and the NPG Horz)

New music: please don't bother. It is ova!

One day, Prince will release an album. It will be a Prince album that is 100% of Prince essence. My future prediction of that Prince album is that it will be crucified, hated, spit on, and rebuked by many Prince.org members. Take note of what I say. My psychic prediction has now been told for all to witness when that time comes.

Bring back Tony M and the Game Boyz too and imagine how awesome that would be cool lol .

In reality, a proper release for the new Prince solo album and some form of official release for Plectrum Electrum (online would be fine).

Looking back nostalgically to the years when Prince released two, sometimes three albums a year under various guises eek . Unless you count the mostly average bits and pieces he released last year, no new Prince album for more than four years and counting is surely a sign of the impending apocalypse wink .

That actually looks like a good idea. The both of them! Prince and Barbra, at least that would be a change! cool

1) The new NPG funk album with Big City on it, and a proper version of Turn me Lose.

2) Live album with full orchestra accompaniment singing tracks like Old Friends for Sale and the version of Gotta Broken Heart Again from the Live at the Aladdin DVD.

3) A new atmospheric experimental concept album along the lines of TRC but more in the direction of "Dark Side of the Moon" whatever the Prince equivalent would be.

Change it one more time..

Haha imagine if Prince actually did a Hardcore punk album. The vocals would sound like irresistible bitch (scream version) for every track. That would be so bad but so good razz

:yeahthat:

He clearly knows how to release them...by any number of avenues. Get to work knickle. Your name is big enuff to spread the love if it deserves spreading. Release the PE album and let the work speak for itself. Its the most credible way. If u worked hard(it appears u have) and the material is engaginging(I'm engaged to what I've heard)...it will sell and y'all'll earn the pay for Y'ALLS hard work.

Haha...write a song outta that lyric..."y'all'll"...lol.

Man....this is sad. There's a million threads about speculation as opposed to a million threads on his new cd or 3rdeyegirl's. I just want something I can play in iTunes and on my iPhone. I'm over the stale synth mPLS sound so I'll take plectrum electrum ASAP. Tour & promote it properly & I'll be happy. Especially if it's at least up there with LOTUSFLOW3R.

I would like an inspired album with modern sounding production. Well written songs, nice instrumentation, no corny/cheesy stuff.

Yes, but that I am afraid is impossible to ask for, unfortunately.. wink

I would love to have something like The Gold Experience part II --> an album covering many different styles and genres.

yes ,but it sounds cohesive and fits perfectly, unlike the albums worth of downloads we've had over the last year

I would love for Prince to release a couple of hard rock albums / possibly 3rdEyeGirl albums (I like their sound and would like for them to have a proper multiple-album era). But only if the songs are great rock songs that showcase P's capabilities. We still haven't heard anything from 3rdeyegirl that compares to I'm Yours, Bambi, Da Bang, Calhoun Square... and so on. Hopefully the upcoming album will change that.

If not, then I'd like an electric album. Like some Prince album hybrid of Primal Scream's 'Xterminator' and John Grant's 'Pale Green Ghosts'. Experimental, hard-edged, atmospheric, but at the same time totally dancable with some freaky electronic ballads. Prince could make amazing things if he committed himself to a project like that.

In an ideal world, he'd keep 3rdeyegirl and keep bringing out rock albums with them, as well as bringing out interesting solo albums, sort of like what he's doing now, only I'm not really feeling AOA. Failing that, just something cohesive that isn't a calculated attempt at chart success.
