I imagine somewhere there is a publicist, who was paid early on, when silly-azz WB thought Prince was actually going to let them re-release the real Purple Rain album, working the bejezus out of this non-existing, never going to happen remaster project.

Late response, but it takes both parties to get this released. Prince would have no ulterior motive to delay it, in my opinion. It would only make him look foolish to sign onto WB and then not produce a remastered PR recording(by year's end before the holiday sales right?).

That said, it would be smart of either party to talk about some progress or a release date.
