the acoustic version in the musicology--the rant where he called WB a monumental waste of time--is there a studio version?

I beleive there were a few studio mixes of this, and bootlegs provided versions recorded off venue speakers when it was played. I'd love to hear whatever first studio version there was of this. I first heard it performed in 2001 at the Xenophobia celebration, he lay on his back when he went through it (was it under the keyboards?).

Or was that 2002?

it was recorded in 20007 by the 3121 era band with Maceo n the horns

and it sounded like a mean, heavy beat, braggart tune. Very cool. I bet there was an original studio version or demo, and the later horned up one was a bigband remake years later.

Yes. I have heard the studio version. At one of the Indigo2 aftershows in 2007, Prince joined DJ Rashida in the DJ booth and spun this joint.
