But now the bad news - Militant's actions are the result MY reporting Bart's post. In fact, I asked the mods why in the heck Bart hasn't been banned from the site by now.

Bart is a bully. Free speech is one thing; bullying is another. I don't think any advocate of free speech would say, "Yeah - use it to bully others". That, sadly, is just what Bart does and has been doing for a long time. I know you've been absent for a few years so you probably haven't seen his recent behavior but trust me - Militant showed great restraint in only giving Bart a strike and not banning him.

Bart has a personal grudge against Prince - this is no secret. Bart plays out that grudge here on the Org, and extends that grudge to people who support Prince. And not people who blindly support everything Prince does. No, if you support ANYTHING Prince does, you're a target of Bart's invective.

Frankly, I've had enough of it. Bart needs to go. I'm all for constructive criticism but personal vendettas have no place here - especially when innocent bystanders are slungwith mud in the carrying out of that vendetta.

So that's the gist of this current Bart situation. It's all on me, for better or worse. I hope you understand. And I am sincerely overjoyed to see you again! Take care, and keep in touch!

KC to be perfectly honest whilst I admire your unstinting [blind] loyalty Barts description fits you & others perfectly well. That's just my opinion & I find it simply beyond belief that you are incapable of any sort of valid criticism...BUT you have every damn right to express yourself on here. So by sharing that opinion am I to be banned? If you went to PPark we would get a gushing report, If Bart went we would get bile If I went you would at least get a balanced opinion..and so would the band & so would Prince without hesitation. Thank U for making this distinction because a couple of posts stated as a matter of fact that those near the stage were hoping for Prince to play. I was near the stage not because I expected Prince to play that night, but I expected to hear the album, or parts of it. I find the sound to be better in the center, than in some other areas. I also like the crowd that wants to be upfront because they seem to be happier and more positive about Prince in general.

Whenever I've went to Paisley Park, it was always with excitement and anticipation. I still feel that way when I go but I am seasoned enuf to know that anything goes. So I purposely go not expecting anything except to be able to be there, and maybe make it inside PP.

When the first group was told to go to the other room, I could have followed. But I didn't hear an open invitation or anything announced for everyone to go and wait in line. I was confused because the lobby was full of people buying T-shirts and Tour Books. I was dancing with a friend waiting while enjoying the evening. By the time we realized what was going on, it was too late. Everyone is different but personally, I always feel it is a great privilege to be in Prince's house no matter what comes down. I left glad to have been there, wishing I was smarter

Then again, they win because they get to go to PPark and Prince wins because afterwards they just get online and talk about how wonderful his new music is. No such thing as bad press. I just miss the days when his music would do the talking for him. I guess I'm just a spoiled Prince fan.

I love this post, funkyhead. I've long been a defender of Bart, and while sure he tends to be pretty negative regarding Prince, I agree with him a thousand times more often than I agree with KCool. And while Bart's posts also frequently provide meaningful information, I get absolutely nothing out of KCool's bizarrely written rants. Other people might feel exactly the opposite. If KCool is allowed to tell everybody off for having the slightest critical thought about Prince (going so far in this thread as to defend the LotusFailure website!) then as far as I see it, Bart is allowed to point out that people who travel at the last minute (even locally) to hang out at Paisley and hear clips from a new 3rdEyeGirl album are going to be blindingly positive by default. And I say that knowing that if I lived closer, I would have gone and most likely fallen under the purple spell as well ... it's happened to me before!

As far as I'm concerned, internet message boards are expected to get a little heated from time to time. As long as nobody is making threats to anyone else or using blatantly racist or homophobic rhetoric, then what's the harm? Let KCool keep rolling his eyes and posting like a giddy kindergartener, and let Bart keep spitting his vitriol and providing interesting information. Calling people names is not dismissing an opinion because it's inconsistent or ignorant of facts. It's calling people names. People you don't know.

I didn't say anything about Lotusflow3r.... go back and read through again. I mentioned Jesse as an example of ONE person (there are others on this site) who was in particular hesistant to keep posting here because the bullying type of posts. Bart's reprimand was not just for this ONE post. As Rodeo says, it's been a pattern of behaviour of constant negativity (which not many like, but we tolerate), with occasional posts that simply cross the line and do not get addressed. So I addressed it. Simple.

And you need to not follow Bart's lead and call the people at the listening party sycophants. Do you know them? There was at least 40 to 50 people at that listening party. These people are all sycophants? They are all nuts? Don't be ridiculous. If you ACTUALLY read the reports of the people that were there, not all of them are OTT positive. At least a couple that I saw were quite objective. And that's what? 4 or 5 reports? So 10% of the people there, if even that? And these people are all sycophants? Fuck that noise.

A good chunk of people on this very site have visited Paisley. So they're all nuts too?

I don't have history with Bart, I don't know the dude, but I received MULTIPLE orgnotes regarding his behaviour in this thread. It wasn't just Rodeo. I addressed it. Simple.

This place, as it is right now, is causing good members to leave. I could name half a dozen in the last 12 months. The reason is the same. Negative bullshit and certain orgers with negative agendas (not just Bart) shitting all over those people for daring to say something positive about the artist this very site is about.


I won't stand for it. Decent, informative posters with good opinions shouldn't be shitted on by the negative nancy parade.
