Does a definitive Leaked Outtakes List Exist?

I was going through Work It 2.0, and thinking that the tracklist is still the most awesome way to catagorize all the outtakes. However, many improved sources now exist for a decent portion of the collection, and other outtakes have materialized, so I'm assuming that the collection if it were revamped with the best available sources, it would be well over 40 discs.

I don't have enough of the newer sources to make such a list myself, so I'm wondering if somebody else has already done this, and could share the list. I certainly don't want anybody taking a week or two to do this on their own, unless it is something they had a unique passion to do like I would if I had all the circulating outtakes.

Is there already a list of what songs on these 34 discs exist in better quality, with the source of the collection, and if there is a list in chronological order of all outtakes including ones left off of this massive set?

It would be something I'd love to do, but I'm afraid I'd screw it up, and get ripped to shreds by the experts of the world.

Just an example of what I mean:

All 34 discs would be listed, and anything that has surfaced since would be inserted in chronological order...this would be a SERIOUS undertaking that might take weeks or even months, but it would be a valuable resource. Princevault.com is 100% awesome, but it is a list of all known songs, and not in chronological order.

I would love to burn a collection of the best of the best of what I have, and try to acquire the boots that I need to make the most AWESOME outtake collection possible, for trips, and my own personal enjoyment...

Instrumental # 2 (better quality on Husney's work in Progress)
Tick Tick Bang (better Quality on Bob's remastered outtakes)
Joy In Repetition (Linn Drum intro)....(pretending the work 2.0 had the best one, no other source
would be listed.)

Now this is just an example, I'm not saying the actual info is true or not true...but there is no Bob's outtakes...I made that up, but Husney's is real...

I have a google spreadsheet for my own use of what's circulating and what quality... I wouldn't call it "definitive" though.

After collecting so many "Work its" and various other collections, it's been a real chore to whittle things down to the absolute best quality for each outtake. Plus, it's been a pain to listen to 40 different version of Gangster Glam.

That's funny. I would suppose I meant to say just comparing 30 years of licensed funk, and the other few new collections, without going overboard. If you'd be willing to share your list here or in PM, I'd appreciate it. After I obtain all the sources, I may just make my own. Thanks.

bob's remastered outtakes? never heard of that one before. / i've been trying to do a similar project to what you are describing, but it's such a huge task, i keep putting it off. / meanwhile i've got folder after folder of stuff i'll have to one day wade through and it seems like just too much.

I would do it. Every outtake that is on Work It 2.0 is not gonna be on later collections. I'd say only 30-50 have shown up in better quality based on my research. Now there have been some tacks not on work it 2.0 that have surfaced, so that should be easy. It will probably take an hour or so a day for a few weeks at most to compare the tracks. I won't sit through mulitple versions of Margie Cox outtakes, but doubt there are updated releases for the less important things..

Just for songs like Turn It UP, Moonbeam Levels, Old Friends 4 Sale...which I know sounds better on Parade Demos than anything else...

I made up "BOb's Outtakes" as an example...there really are only a few outtakes sets since 2007 anyway, so this will be a task, but not impossible. I'm willing to do the work smile

I may 4get a few but here r the collections I can remember with superior quality tracks that got released after Work It 2.0. I've never heard of Bob's outtakes.

- 30 Years Of Unreleased Funk

- Perfect Unreleased Prince

- Exodus (both first configurations)

- Howen Husney's studio 1977 session

- Parade Demos

- Box Of Chocolate

- 10,000 Wallpaper

- Corporate World (by 4DF but they messed up the last track by replacing it by a fanmade mix sad )

+ a few solitary floating outtakes: 4 Lust, Can I Play With U, A Couple Of Miles, Amercian In Paris, More Bounce To The Once (reheasal), Trust (2 mixes), Loose (Glam Slam Ulysses), Vicky Waiting (Extended), I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man Remix, Batdance Remix. Purple Rain overdubs.

Thanks for the reply. The most help I have got so far. Like I said, I made up "BOb's Outtakes" just for the sake of the post smile Would you happen to know if there is a better version of "Joy In Repetition" without the awful I Know/Alphabet St crap ruining the great original Linn Drum intro?

It was put on YT by one of the original dancers, in video, it may still be there IDK. He put several songs from the show but not Race and the others we all already had in good quality.

Yeah YT the left audio channel is soundboard and the right channel is the existing quality version so a little bit of an edit to strip away the right channel and you have a mono mix of the studio version

I wonder. Has everything Prince has done been leaked? He may not be holding on to much stuff that we have not already heard, which would kind of make the vault a bit empty - no?
