wedding playlist

Hi All

In just under 3 weeks time I finally get married in a modern civil ceremony.

As my fiance and I both share a common love for all things princely, we have decided to have all prince music played during the ceremony.

Therefore I need to decide upon songs in a suitable running order pretty ASAP and thought i would throw it out there for suggestions. Preferably these would be nice love songs however its not set in stone to just have ballads we don't mind an uptempo song or 2 (just no loud songs like Fury haha)

The order must be as follows:

4 x songs - guests gathering / waiting for brides entrance

1 x song - bride walking down the Aisle

2 x songs - the signing of the register

1 x song - Exiting the ceremony

We have already decided upon Adore is going to be our 1st dance therefore that cannot be included in the main ceremony.

Any suggestions appreciated

Personally, I like it understated. Prince has some beautiful instrumentals.

Venus de milo
Arboretum
The Plan
Alexa de Paris

Other vocal track that work well...

Friend, lover, mother, sister, wife
Reflection
Somewhere here on earth
Saviour
Comeback
Condition of the heart
The most beautiful girl in the world
The One
Forever in my life
When 2 r in love
.

Aisle - Venus De Milo

Signing - Arboretum, Condition of the Heart

Exit - Forever In My Life

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Yep. As above, Venus de Milo for bridal walk.

I've tried to pull that off twice. The first time our string trio said they couldn't learn it, too complicated. The 2nd time was iPod. (What?). But the wife wasn't having it.

I got some adore lyrics into my vowels though. Just don't tell my wife!

Now, don't be hating on me but after the first dance, pick it up with fallinlove2night. boxed

or just dont be boring and play the same old shit that everyone thinks.

Play 'wonderful ass' or g-spot or something. Why play a soppy tune because its your wedding day.

To be honest, whats the point in getting married, means nothing. Be different.

Congrats! I asked my partner of 23 years if he wants to get married to the sound of Prince tunes and he said only if I want to be left standing at the altar.

To be honest, whats the point in getting married, means nothing. Be different.

we were a bit different as it was a civil partnership ceremony and on our 21st anniversary of being together, gay 'marriage' is a relatively new thing in conservative Ireland, the lyrics to that song in particular genuinely describe how we feel about each other

g-spot or wonderful ass (though we do have those) would hardly capture the feelings in play at such an emotional, once in a lifetime event shared with family and friends

whats the point in getting married? to us, it meant everything, because we could - everyone to himself

I've Never felt a love that runs so deep
The way we communicate is in the way we breathe
U told me "This is the safest place u'll ever be"
So tie me down, i'm ready.

I wonder if i'm the only wisdom that u seek
Open me up, i'll be the best book u'll ever read
If beauty and presence and power were the key
So, stop the car, i'm ready.

I question if this is how it feels to be alive
I see ur spirit smile in between ur sighs
Pick me up, wash me down with the color of ur eyes
So if i die 2nite, i'm ready

Nothing more
Nothing more
There will never be nothing more

There is nothing

Bring out the child that resides untamed
Tho our bodies age, the fire still remains

And with each rising sun, our souls interwoven and this is what i call Heaven.
And there's nothing more.

There is nothing
There is nothing

Ah, that's great! thumbs up! Do I get payed as the wedding planner? lol

I do think Forever In My Life would be perfect at some pointt, as the lyrics talk of a man wanting to settle down and all that.
