I've notices some new info (not from Per Nilsen/uptown) appearing on other songs' pages as well. It seems the Princevault team is continuing research on their own.

Interesting info, but doesn't make the song any better.

Maybe the confusion exists because Kravitz did covered a song called Billy Jack on the 1994 A Tribute To Curtis Mayfield album?

I still think Lenny played the Clavinet on Calhoun Square.

IIRC, I read that somewhere.

Don't remember where, though, so...

Just fucked up my ears listening 2 it real loud.

I think I can hear Lenny quite obviously on the "oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh" choir. The rest of the bckgrnd I'm not sure.

Sounds like he's layered in some of Prince's multitracked vocals, and the backup. If so, it's pretty prominant but sounds harmonized the way Prince would do with his own voice.

i remember people on the old Rick james board, saying that musically BJB was rip-off of Rick James's hanging on The Top. I always thought htat both songs were rip-offs of Funkadelic's (George Clinton)

(Not Just) KNee Deep.

You mean the ones saying: "There's the word Bitch in the title, this has to be funky!" lol

Don't like the sample driven sound of the song. The repeated lines of the background vocals are kinda lame too.

So the only thing I consider nice is the horn arrangement at the very end.

U mean Standing On The Top don't u? The resemblance with it as well as Knee Deep is somewhere there but quite remote if u ask me. I'd say it wasn't intentional. I tend to think that some people's claims that some songs are being based on other songs (such as My Medallion and Spill The Wine) are sometimes really abusive even if both songs show similarities. It may be true but it may as well be accidental, we'd need the artist to tell.

On the other way how the same people who claim that MM = STW can consider P and SueAnn's renditions of Make It Though The Storm as being 2 different compositions just beats me lol lol lol

Right now I"m not focused on that era, so nothing concrete yet.

The quote was in Musiq magazine #15. I don't know the date unfortunately.

Yeah, what and where is the quote?

I've never heard or read one negative thing about Prince from Lenny...

I think you're making it up.

Lenny joked & laughed with Jimmy Fallon about Prince showing up in these furry white ugg boots and was describing how Prince was dressed. But still beat him at ping pong. When Lenny himself clearly dresses flamboyantly & unisex himself. Its the pot calling the kettle black.

He was joking. Lighten up, he is Prince's friend after all. I mess with my friends all the time, it's fun.

My point is people always joke about Prince in particular about the way he dresses. When it is MANY "men" in entertainment that dress far worse and more flamboyantly including Lenny. But they omit them.

You are blowing things out of proportion..

Let's stick on topic here. This is a topic about Lenny Kravitz being uncredited on "Billy Jack Bitch"..
