purple rain remaster info ? just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the purple rain re issue that is coming out this year...you would think that some info would be coming out about it...who is working on it..what the plans are..baseless rumours will do for a start | |

So are we likely to see it around the anniversary or later on the year. Would be a shame to miss out on the publicity of the anniversary with the re release. And it's only little over a month away  She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

it would be nice to get some information at some point, yes / and here i was, hoping that now with WB backing the whole thing, everything would run smoothly. / but so far we've had nothing we haven't seen from prince in the post warner years: / 1 - a big anouncement, yet unclear on details, content, dates. 2 - a single released without promotion or a video 3 - that single isn't performed live during current tour 4 - no push for radio 5 - no details on the remasters deal (just 1 album or all 80s?) 6 - no details on when to expect more details 7 - 34 concurrent projects, some or none of which may get a release / so who needs warners anyway? and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

Also not to mention most of the WB albums are still in print (except of course TGE & C&D) If we really were getting remasters anytime soon wouldn't they be gone? Purple Rain is still being sold in its original form. Of course if we do get remasters, they may be edited. I'm feeling depressed.

Holy cow give it some time people! I realize we all want instant gratification, but come on, it was just announced, there is a machine in operation here that needs to get up and running for all this to happen.
If it doesn't happen, which will not be the case, then so what, life goes on, my sister will still have a limp, and all the a-holes I know in life will still be a-holes.

I really expected the WB albums (or at least Purple Rain) to be reduced to clear-out prices by now, or even recalled altogether. Odd. |
