Prince songs most fans hate that you LOVE!!!

As the title implies, what P songs do you love that most people hate? My fav exaple is 'Solo' but I also like RNR Love affair.

You guys? What P songs do people hate that you love?

There'll Never be Another Like Me, Chocolate Box, Daddy Pop, Everyday is a Winding Road, Undisputed...I also have no bias against songs in which Prince or somebody else raps, which are almost unanimously hated here.

Mr Goodnight! I know it's a bit cheesy but P's speaking voice is just so sexy!

I would have said Solo. I can see why people wouldn't like it, but I think it's a great Prince song.

LOVE "It"...one of my favorite Prince songs.

I also love the NPS album...I never understood the crap it gets on here. An entertaining album and Freaks on this Side is a good tune. Yes, I said it.

I hear ya. Arms is like my guiltiest of all princely pleasures.

Even though it feels like an adult version of that american tale song...I still love it.

Strays of the World ( A great song about loneliness and the power of love...some find it too bombastic and reminiscent of Three Chains of Gold..but I think it is far superior to that mess. This would have fit perfectly into the concept of the Come album and he should have left this on the album configuration instead of dropping it from it. Would´ve been a perfect ending for that album, especially since "Come!" is the last word in that song.)

-

Sticky Like Glue

-

Walk in Sand

-

Cinnamon Girl (not a song I really listen to very often but I like the music and the lyrics, and I think it´s just as good or better than most of the "political" songs he wrote in the 80s).

-

Freaks On This Side (Not exactly a masterpiece or a very memorable tune but it has never bothered me as much as it seems to bother some folks here. I´m surprised that I kind of like it because I can´t even listen to songs like We Gets Up or I Like Funky Music, Courtin Time or Damned If I Do for a minute, let alone for the duration of the whole song. This one is not that bad and I never have the urge to skip it.)

-

Lion Of Judah (I like the music, I like the vocal delivery, I even like the lyrics to some extent but the title and the Biblical references ruin the flow and the whole vibe and atmosphere of this song. I don´t mind Biblical references in general in Prince´s songs even though I don´t practise that religion, but they feel strangely misplaced particularly in this otherwise great song. Fans hate this one but I like it.)

-

Reflection .....I just love this one. It´s personal and yet accessible, it´s old school, acoustic and it is just a beautiful song. I like the album version but I prefer the live version he did on the Tavis Smiley show with Wendy.

-

Come ( The album version. I really, really like and prefer the album version and especially the way he sings it compared to the more or less spoken versions. The only thing I dislike about the album version are those cunnilingus sounds that are very juvenile, vulgar, crass and in bad taste...they sound like he´s eating some juicy fruit like mango or papaya or melon, and I wish he´d released it without those ridiculous sounds).

-

Incense and Candles (OK, the lyrics are horrible, especially since they are neither fish nor flesh, but, much like Lion of Judah, this is a song with a lot of potential that is, in my opinion at least, marred by lyrics that make him look a bit too undecided for my taste. He´s trying to be sexy while at the same time trying not to sound too sexy. The little rapping part is unnecessary, and the song tries to be sexy while at the same time sounding a bit too restricted and tame(d). But all in all, this could´ve been a very popular song. The autotune doesn´t really add anything positive to it, either, but it is one of those hated-among-fans songs that I have always kind of liked...kind of...not really....but kind of...somehow.... lol )

MrNorway

Old Friends 4 Sale, the "new" 1991(?) re-recording from "The Vault" album. From my understanding a lot of fans seem to not like this version and think it`s over-produced, while they seem to love the first version. Well, I simply love the second version and absolutely love the production, which to me is not over-produced at all, but very well-produced. I should say, though, that I love the first version of the song as well, but I honestly think that "The Vault" version is at least AS good, if not better.

I also love a lot of the more pop-oriented Prince songs.
