at this point ANYTHING!! Its been 4 years since his last album. He has been teasing us for over a year with this 3rdeyegirl album and still wont release it. It wears you down as a fan to where you almost don't care anymore. Just release anything at this point!!

Anything or, more accurately, EVERYTHING lol

The old catalogue needs proper, comprehensive reissues/remasters with bonus material for the sake of P's legacy.

The vault is filled with heard and unheard gems that need to be made available.

And I dig P's recent output so anything new is welcome.

I would be very happy with:

1. Remastered 2CD deluxe editions of every WB album (yes even the 90s) with the first CD being just the original album and the 2nd CD being b-sides, extended versions, alternate versions and maybe a few outtakes.

2. A comprehensive Vault collection either organised chronologically (ie grouping songs together by when they were recorded) or thematically (ie grouping songs together thay have a similar feel/sound like "Vault...Old Friends For Sale")

3. A box set of live recordings from each of his tours

4. New material quite regularly also!

Well you did ask!!!!!! biggrin

'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

The Black Album really needs a remaster.

Dirty Mind through to Lovesexy really needs a remaster. Batman onwards is fine (I include TBA as being inbetween SOTT and Lovesexy and not the 90's release).

I totally agree. Get it all out there, why the hell not! The world needs to hear those lost jems of the 1980's. The Mazarati album would be top of my list.

how about releasing a new album? If anyone has reason to be motivated to promote prince back to relevance it's WB. So far I'm not impressed at all with the lack of promotion the The Breakdown got.

And I wonder if Prince realizes that a 30th anniversary of Purple Rain release can't slip into next year.

A compilation of the best studio rushes featuring people laughing? I realise this is the entire essence of Purple Rain, but other than the Mashed Potato segues from Exodus, and the laugh out loud Cream remix B-Side ("That ain't cream!") i have totally lost my soul. I am quoting sequences of recorded events that make it to the end of B-sides. Damn! Prince already filmed a comedy! It featured Stephen Berkoff of Heavy Electricity fame, so...

Under The Cherry Moon, In Colour, In Theatres Worldwide.

Anything else is chicken scratch and you know it.

I'd really love the videos released on Blu-Ray or HD Ultraviolet. Official stuff like Prince And The Revolution: Live!, Lovesexy live and 3 Chains Of Gold.

Yeah... that would do it! lol I would like the remastered albums with a 2nd of disc of B-Sides and extended versions, and I would save the outtakes for outtake albums, (grouped together both thematically and by the period in which they were recorded so they sound like cohesive albums). Imagine a Controversy/1999 era outtake album with 'Moonbeam Levels', 'Baby, You're a Trip', 'Extraloveable' and 'Lust U Always' on it! Or Parade/Sott era with 'Old Friends 4 Sale', 'All My Dreams' and 'Train', or a GB/Diamonds and Pearls era album with 'I Hear Your Voice', 'Open Book' and 'I Wonder' (thinking about it, a lot of the outtakes were so much stronger than the released stuff during this era).

On top of any "new/unreleased" stuff, I really just want everything that was once available to be available again in either an updated format (i.e. Blu-Ray vs. VHS, CD vs. cassette/LP, etc).

.

An artist of Prince's importance should not have a huge chunk of his catalog OOP.

This could be interesting, but only in addition to a proper remaster (not a replacement).

Humor me, this is going to start out in left field, but it will become relevant...

.

George Lucas has steadfastly refused to release the unmolested, un-messed-with versions of the original "Star Wars" trilogy. He's basically ashamed of them, and prefers the new CGI-heavy versions. However, now that he's sold Lucasfilm to Disney, there are now rumblings that Disney, ever eager to get money out of geeks' pockets, will release restored Blu-Ray versions of the Original Trilogy when the new movie, Episode VII, comes out, in December 2015.

.

So perhaps, at some point in the future, Prince's vault material might leave his control. Say if Prince decides to cash out and sell his material to a label, or he dies and the estate/family decides to make some extra money (*cough cough* the Jacksons *cough cough*), we might get the hidden gems we all hope are tucked away in "the Vault".

.

OR... he could go all bat-shit crazy and destroy every bit of it, just to spite people. Let's hope he's not that nuts.

I dont want him to release ALL of his vault because he should always have some unreleased material to keep us wanting and dreaming but at this point old or new is fine with me. But if something happens to him and someone has control of his music, they better not pollute it like they do Mjs unreleased songs(producing them to death to where u miss Michaels original vision). Leave them as they are.

George Lucas has always maintained that he was limited to the technology of his time. He went back originally to clean up the matte lines and achieve a few effects that weren't possible in 1977. Something akin to plastic surgery addiction, he kept going and going until what was originally a "fix" became a bastardization. I believe there are now 3 different versions of the original trilogy, the final one having Hayden Christensen appearing alongside Obi-Wan and Yoda at the end of Return Of The Jedi.

.

Prince has not changed anything yet except for cursing, and aside from a few songs on 1999, I can't think of too many curse words in his early work. He hasn't really gone back and "fixed" a song that's been released. Let's wait and see what happens with the first remaster to come out this year before we start judging.

.

As a P.S., if the new Blu-Ray releases have every version on them, I will buy them. I won't buy a single-version release.

New material or recent live material is at the bottom of the list, put it that way.

No newer material would be SO fine. Instead, let these guys release a remaster of PR and Parade, shieeet... That'll rock.

Nothing too extravegant. I could do with remaster/bonus disc releases of the '79-'90 catalogue with all the b-sides and unreleased tracks, maybe extended versions per each album. I figure Purple Rain will get special treatment, though.

That would be cool, in fact all of the 80's protege albums I would love to own with Prince vocals. If that would be asking too much then at least remaster them as they are. That would be awesome!

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Older as well as new material.

Vault material would be nice, but what has been Prince's response whenever someone has asked him about releasing material from the Vault? If he's not comfortable with this, then I wouldn't want anyone to pressure him to do so.

New albums like : LotusFlow3r, 20ten, 2131, Rave unto the Joy Fantastic, The Rainbow Children. Also, the song and remixes of Rock and Roll Affair. It is difficult to get them directly through Amazon, Barnes and Noble or Best Buy.
