"I sincerely wanna duck you so bad it hurts"

With the remaster announcement, this a concern we're all seeing a lot of. Will Prince demand that he be able to alter the original work?

I have to say no. It would not only result in a lot of returned product, it has the potential to become the greatest joke that I can remember in the history of music. I wouldn't believe for a moment that WB would have signed a deal that would allow this, but we also know that Prince doesn't tend to budge when it comes to his beliefs/ideals.

Stalemate?

So, I'm asking you: do you think Prince might have demanded a clause that would allow him to alter the work? And if he does... would you buy it?

I sincerely doubt WB would go along with this and since Prince ultimately just wants his masters back then I think they'd hold that carrot in front of him until he agreed not to tamper. Really, there's nothing to indicate that Prince is handling the remastering himself anyway. He may just have provided the bonus content and WB is doing all the work.

I think he will mentally disassociate with the reissues and focus on his current path. He can take advantage of WB marketing and advertising budget rather than having to do live promo work for it.
WB and Prince both recognise the money making potential of it if done correctly.
I hope so because if this is a way of revising and in his mind, correcting the past, then I ain't playing.
don't play me...i'm over 30 and i DO smoke weed....

I'd say that (especially after hearing what he said on Arsenio about his past) he is just looking at it like that is just what he did at that time in his life. I think he also realizes that it was that content that got him anywhere in the first place. I don't think the remasters will be censored.

Only my own speculation though of course.

With a song like "Screwdriver" having been released recently my guess is that he's not so overly concerned about vulgarity anymore.
