So apparently Prince was backstage at the OutKast show at Coachella last night. ACcording to Andre 3000, anyway. He said to the crowd "Wanna know a secret? My idol is backstage" ...Prince, he's backstage right now....no lie".

Eye bet Prince attended just 2 c Janelle Per4rm. She may have invited him.
Andre has NEVER performed or toured on his hit album "The Love Below" the album that made him a superstar/sex symbol... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! Considering Prince specifically chose OutKast, along with Alicia Keys induct him into the RRHOF. I think it's safe to say he was likely there to see them as opposed to showing up just to see Janelle perform on one song.

OMG I saw Outkast at Coachella. Were they good? Who knows? I was backstage. I couldn't see or hear them. Oh that's too bad. Was there any one famous backstage? Prince. I guess. He was probably in a VIP room, but I heard Andre 3000 say he was backstage, but I never saw him. So it was really awesome. | |

I seriously doubt Prince was there to see OutKast perform(They swear a lot in their muziq plus their dudes). He was there like I said to see Janelle & maybe La Reid. Andre saw his idol backstage during Big boi's segment, Eye bet Prince hightailed it out of there with Janelle & left after Andre acknowledged him.

Ok here's my 2 cents:
Personally I LOVE Outkast! Always have from "Southernplayalistic..."
I've have heard from several sources that Prince really digs on some Outkast!
So what! he was behind/side stage where did you expect him to be in the audience?
Maybe he just wanted to enjoy the performance by a group that he digs why ya'll have to be hatin' all the time?

I guess U don't know me very well. I actually do love OutKast and wish I could have been there. I also liked their performance! Even though Andre didn't put much soul in his solo performances of "Love Below" material. But I know he lost both of his parents recently and I feel his pain still... I actually posted threads on both of his losses.
Maybe its possible Prince did want 2 c them perform. But I know he digs Janelle a lot more. But I know due to his religious beliefs he is not suppose to attend profanity laced performances. The Jw's wouldn't approve.. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! He has said in past interviews that he digs Outkast, chose them to induct him as stated above and even covered one of their songs at one of his shows so he's obviously a fan. It's nothing surprising since they are a funk influenced group.

Due to Princes refusal to sign CONtracts, and UK newspapers no longer willing to give away his music, Prince has had to once again pioneer new distribution methods for his music. . Last seen at Coachella peddaling his new album, it seems Prince has opted for a covert, shadowy distribution method where he hides in the shadows before pouncing on unsuspecting customers who then purchase the new release out of fear for their lives. Here on Prince.org we are assuming the album hasnt yet been released, meanwhile the distribution is in full swing. . Was he in London for a Hit n Run tour? Of course not! What he was doing during the day was distibuting PE. Mike Smith, Cricklewood, London received his copy whilst urinating down a dark shadowy alley near Kilburn High Street. David Wangle got his copy whilst playing hide and seek with his son at Hyde Park. He was laying low behind some bushes in the dark undergrowth. . LA Reid got his copy whilst hanging out in a dark club in New York and now Andre 3000 has received his copy from the shadows of backstage at Coachella. Prince will next be (un)seen in the shadows of Glastonbury, UK. Whilst it can never be known where he will distribute next, it is thought that the copious amounts of mud would serve well for hiding the way Swartznegger did in Predator. Although there is some speculation about whether Prince can really manouvre his way through the vast mud bath in high heels, there were a pair of gold encrusted wellington boots recently purchased from Amazon under the username Victor. . Current distribution figures have the new album racing up the charts with over 7 sold so far. Expect the torrents to be released imminently, just as soon as PiratePrince receives his copy whilst caving in the Madagascan Jungle. |
