Aren't you tired yet? Tired of LYING TO YOURSELF about who your "hero" Prince really is?

damn... clueless

---------- Shut the fuck up. You do know P on the level to know what he does or does not do. What we all know is that according to many people that have worked with him and media accounts he gives a lot of money to charity and has helped a lot of musicians out with advice concerning record labels.

Search on this board and find the topic with Najee if you want to know what Prince has done right. No one is perfect and every story has two sides.

It is so long. Can someone give us the highlights? Thanks

The longer the better!

Not into listening while you drive? Work? Clean house?

razz

I've heard this interview 3 times already, I think it's good enough smile

Enough time for baking, proving and putting cinnamon buns, garlic buttered baguettes and bread rolls in the oven, and wait for the results. As I did cool

I think Andre didn't want 2 b another Prince clone. He wanted his own sound just like Prince had. But the labels wanted him 2 b Prince.

Eye feel Prince not playing the guitar solo live on LRC is him giving credit 2 Dez. Its never been a secret that Dez did that solo anyway. Andre plays humble sometimes not wanting to discredit Prince. But why throw these darts that he has the original recordings with him playing the parts and not Prince? Either way they are still Prince's songs & hits.

If Andre created that original "Let's Work" bassline. Prince must of took it to a whole other level. Because it is still slammin to this day! But the way Andre is explaining it, that is him playing it everything else around it is different.

If you listen, he said it sounded the same. He didn't say that he actually played on the record. Prince just played a close to identical bass lick, with different "wrapping". Prince has this sponge brain being able to recreate stuff pretty easy, especially if his "brother" made it. It's a style he understands. Prince talent was being able to see concepts to put this great pieces in, and create a monster song out of it. Of course, he was incredible at creating riffs also. But his skills of crafting a song together with his work ethic and extreme passion for every sound that came out of him is what made him different imo.

nod

Your exactly right!!!

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

What truth are you speaking of? The only thing nagging at me is that the world is full of nutballs who should not be allowed on the computers in the day room of the local mental ward. You go on and keep letting us all know the dreaded truth about Prince while the rest of us live our lives.

I think what makes people mad is that the statement "did one thing right for once" (something like that) is so exaggerated and unjust. Everybody has a good side and bad side, done good and bad. To judge someone as completely bad/evil from afar based on hearsay and media anecdotes is really unfair.
Visiting Bernadette on her death bed was a "right thing," but there were certainly more than one right things he's done that's public knowledge - we all know them very well.
Those things don't prove he's an angel either - it just means we know about some things he's done (benefit concerts, paying for sister's rehab, sending nephews nice gifts, buying cousins cars, parents houses, not getting mad at GF who smashed up his car). We don't know him personally and I certainly don't think I'm in any position to judge him. And what nags at me is not that the "truth" is hard to swallow, but the injustice of people smugly condemning the character of someone they don't even know, as if that is the truth.

Exactly, the time and energy that people spend coming to board and ranting about someone they do not even know (really do not know what is true or not true) as if his actions have some bearing on their lives.

GREAT CD! Highly recommended. It kind of has a similar vibe to some of Lenny Kravitz' stuff.

Check it out... wink

A very good album indeed. Actually even though it doesn't have any hits or his songs don't scream instant classic immediately, its strength is that it flows so good together all of the songs, with a great rock sound never failing to bring a GOOD SOUND. It could have been mastered a bit better though.
