Could it be true? I've heard the rumours that it could be a double album. If so, I think it could go like this....

Disc 1 - PLECTRUM

This disc is obviously gonna have the rock heavy songs recorded with 3rdEyeGirl. FULU, Pretzel, etc

Disc 2 - ELECTRUM

This disc will have more pop oriented electronic songs, i.e. FallInLuv2nite, Breakfast Can wait, whathaveyou.


What do you guys think? Would this sound good to you guys? Or do you think it's gonna be more of an ecclectic mix-bag (like SIGN)?

Thoughts?

If it hasn't been a year now since we heard about this album, it sure will be. But at this rate, the only people excited about this will be the hardore. And barely at that.

I've heard nothing to suggest that there is a double album of material to be released as 'Plectrum Electrum' other than wishful thinking.

There's also been an image of a test pressing released, which showed no sign of stretching to a double album.

There are no rumours about a double album. Just wishfull thinking here that has been read and then been mistaken as a rumour.

Prince will always surprise us and go in the opposite direction to what we think. So common sense states an album will be one disc, we want two so he'll go in the other direction and make it a zero disc album. No disc and no digital download. You gotta hand it to him, that's pretty revolutionary thinking. BUT, we'll end up with most of the songs anyway as one off downloads, radio rips or as inclsusions on some future release.

And no, everything I just wrote is not a "rumour" It's just baseless speculation.

You know for a second I was about to check on Prince Vault to see if there was a new song called whathaveu. I am somewhat inebriated though, so maybe that excuses my idiocy.
