What ridiculous questions could you ask to confirm if someone's a hardcore fan?

What's the most obscure question you can think of to determine whether someone is a seriously hardcore fan? lol

I mean, you have to give props to anyone who knows exactly what "Metallic Gigolo" refers to lol lol lol

Are you saying that if someone doesn't know about an obscure single with a strangely translated title then they are NOT a hardcore fan? confused

Considering that a person could hear every track in circulation and read every book written about the man and gone to dozens of shows and still not know about that single suggests that Metallic Gigolo would not be the kind of trivia that every fan needs to know to be considered hardcore.

In my not-so-humble opinion, of course... wink

But then you did say "ridiculous", so, on second thought, I take it back, you might be right.

biggrin

I was thinking the same thing lol

Its a bit had to define a Hardcore fan, I would say im hardcore
But i can not name rare foreign 7" single lol

I usualy ask a few questions to test the water hmmm

1. Do/Did you collect singles, B-sides?
If they say no, there is no need to ask any more questions

2. Do you collect bootlegs IE: out takes, live stuff
If the say no, i assume they are not harcore lol

3. Howmany shows have you seen

If they can tell you their favorite outtake, know show dates like 08-19-1988
They know their stuff cool

Cant believe my purple psychedelic pimp slap pimp2

And I descend from grace, In arms of undertow
I will take my place, In the great below

A fun way to verify a hardcore fan’s street cred might be to have them list off the top of their head the differences in music and artwork between the Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic and Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic albums.

I actually did this once with my wife.

I made one mistake.

God, I'm sad.

What is the name of the island that the real Prince was banished to when his villainous doppelganger took over his identity in the 80s?

It just depends on what angle you use to look at things.

Context is everything.

No, that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying, if you were to randomly meet a fan and you wanted to gauge just how much of a fan they were, how far could you push it? lol It's not that serious a thread, just having a fun.

I think there are some 'fundemental' Prince things that if a fan has a problem with I question

"Ohh oohh I didn't like the song Head, ooh oohhh the briefs, he should never wear makeup etc"

Why be a Prince fan if you have issues with these things

Exactly! One of my friends pissed me off once talking about his makeup when I had the Cream video on so I told him to close his eyes or leave. As good as his music is, you'd think people were smart enough to overlook the little things but not always neutral

Did U leave fandom during the symbol years?

How long have U been christened into the purple kingdom?
