I believe it is Aaron. I miss that site too. I really enjoyed the discussions there, very thoughtful and focused on the music.

And because of that it was closed down. Too much bullying from prince and his army of lawyers.

The truthfully and all complete honestly - FUCKED UP - thing is...

Here we are now in 2014, with Prince FINALLY realizing the significance of the internet and social interaction with his "Johnny Come Lately" ass getting on Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and Instagram.

Before all of those websites existed, everything they are now capable of and famous for, was already being done on the websites created, in the late 90's to early 2000's, by and for fans of Prince, that he AND/OR his minions would eventually, systematically destroy!!!

Now just imagine for a moment, he'd have had the attitude that he's suddenly adopted and embraced lately - back in 2007 - instead of the nightmares that became reality for his most dedicated, through thick and thin, die-hardest of fans. confused

hrmph

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Man, I have a heavy heart when it comes to HQ. Its where my rite of passage took place for Prince. I learned so much there. And lemme tell you, the folks on there were tough as nails, and were never afraid to call somebody on their bs. But once you spoke with intellegence, and contributed something useful to the site, they loved you. Also, alot of people there had a very diverse taste in music. More so there than on here. I would post topics about bands like Dream Theater and Opeth or Faith No More (fav. band of all time) and easily got more than 10 responses each to said topics. It was the first time I actually was a member of a forum and didnt just read the topics as a guest. And when Aaron had to change the header from Prince and Shelia from the Lovesexy period to James Brown and somebody else (I forget), I knew something was up. Aaron was such a fucking good dude, and soldier really to put up with Prince's lawyers and whoever (Web Sherriff, those assholes) caused a disturbance. And then you also had the interviews with people like Alan Leeds and Susan Rogers and if I recall correctly, Michael Koppelman. Put it this way: if you were a novice in Prince-world, you became a veteran within two months time. Also, Per Nilsen had reviews for pretty much every Prince album on there as well. Just a whole treasure trove of Prince knowledge. So to see it go hurt really bad. Still does. I genuinelly felt like a member of a loving community on there. And this may sound corny, but I still have my Housequake log in info email allllll the way back from 2004 on there just in case it comes back. And one more thing, it was BEAUTIFULLY designed and put together well, especially for an online forum. And dont get me started on all of those wonderful videos. The Lovesexy Show, the Parade tour, you name it. Pretty much almost everything was there. God I could cry right now. I miss it so, so very much to this day.

Get in your mouse, and get out of here!

^ Yes Vc. HQ was everything all of us, and even Prince himself, could ever wish for,

But unfortunately - like all good things - it had to end back then. It's true about having a heavy heart.

Those guys running it knew what they were doing, it was an amazing fan forum, I was happy to be a part of it, as a fan --- and right now, I am feeling a bit sad thinking about it, just how good it was.

Oh well, life goes on, but kind of sad that Prince needs to be such a "control freak", and fighting the place - his most dedicated fans, other artists would have been happy and flattered with such a nice and cool place like that.

Housequake was the fansite to end all fansites, it was that good! It's just a shame the way Prince treats his most loyal fans..without sites like prince.org and housequake.com keeping the torch light, what else would there be on the internet?

Also quite incredible how Prince manages to get away with his bullshit time and time again.

yeah, housequake was very cool

a lot more diversity there than on this site..........all kinds of fans, topics, music, etc.

much more of a community vibe to it

from the outside it appeared a great tribute to Prince but in reality it was a huge invasion of his privacy and his art

Housequake was an awesome site, for sure. But there was another place......a place where the hardest of the hardcore fans hung out. A place where you could find anything and everything Prince related.....a place full of OG's and the most knowledgeable cats. A place I would hang out in all day and all night.

It was called The Royal Hub, and that got shut down by Web Sheriff too. That's what I miss.

OMG YES!!!! For me, TRH was a Prince fan's Shangri La! It literally hurt my soul when it disappeared for good. I miss it so much. mad

But hey, now there's 3rdEyeGirl, Princestagram and such. Who needs to remember or better yet - discover - there's over 30 years worth of really, incredibly awesome Prince material that exists and people that actually care(d) a whole lot about it? shrug disbelief

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

It was our secret little hardcore world. And what was good was the effort that was needed to get in. You had to prove you were worthy, and you had to have something to bring the table. The chat room was always rockin' and everybody got along. Some people had boots there that I have never seen before or since.

Remember the excitement of downloading someone's file list to see what they had? Then queuing up a bunch of stuff? Someone would get something new and you'd have to request them to open up additional upload slots cos everyone was trying to get it? lol lol

I like that Prince is embracing social media for his current projects. But it would be nice for there to be a safe place for those of us who have been round the block a few times, as well. The org used to be good for that, too, with things like the image gallery before it got gutted and reduced to a shell. And Housequake's videos section, before that was shut down. Guide2Prince was another good one, luckily TheDigitalGarden seems to have taken the mantle for that one. But the online community ain't what it used to be. It seems to just skewer to the new stuff pretty much exclusively now.

You know, I'd really dig it if Prince used his new Instagram and YouTube accounts to upload some unseen archive pictures and videos, too. But I'm not too sure whether that'll happen.

I think it took me like 2 years from the moment I found out it existed, to actually getting in. falloff But once I was in...OMG...was it ever so worth the effort and wait!!! touched

Man, before all those sites were bullied into nothingness or left as mere shells like the Org is now, it was a freaking amazing time to be a Prince fan. Of course I loved all the pics, vids and rarest of rare bootage but in all complete honesty...my favorite part about those times was the community and and sense of comradery. The countless meet ups and theme parties, I found out about online and went to, were grand. I've gone to Prince and Prince Associated Artist's concerts with people I met online and had the very best times. Fellow Prince fans that I've met solely because of those websites, have been some of the smartest, funnest, coolest people I've had the pleasure of knowing.

The way things went down, DID NOT in any way stop bootleggers nor protect Prince's legacy nor whatever the hell the excuse was supposed to be. What it did was destroy the very vibrant community that Princefandom had come to be. That's what hurts and still sucks the most! mad

I would love nothing more than if Prince's new found acceptance of social media would lead to his finally putting out the material that would surely cause a resurgance of that but I won't hold my breath. I'm rather fond of living. falloff
